You know the deal!

This is the thread for the March "Commit to one book monthly" challenge. In this thread, post one book you intend to read for March, so that everyone else can see your pick. When you finish reading it, we'd love for you to come back and post your opinion.

My library just closed for demolition so I have about a 2 week hold before I get a digital copy but I will be reading
The Long Walk by Richard Bachman

Oh, and they will be building a bigger and multi-purpose library on the same site…estimated to open fall 2026….

Congrats on the first King. I really love this story, and read it every year. Its my favorite, after the Talisman.

I'm going to commit to The Passionate Tudor A Novel of Queen Mary I (Tudor Rose #3) by Alison Weir because I've knocked out almost all of Weir's historical fiction from this time period and this is one of the few I have left.

I'm reading my pick today. I'm always impressed by how Weir, primarily a biographer and nonfiction writer, deftly bridges the gap between nonfiction and historical fiction.

I don’t know if loved is the correct term to use for The Long Walk, but it was a thought provoking and wonderfully crafted story. I can see why you go back and reread it. I definitely will, just not yearly. Now I just need to figure out how to slowly wade into his catalog…not a huge horror fan it will be baby steps.

Baby steps. Start with short stories and see how you feel about them. After a set of short stories, go to Carrie.
