Howdy, looking forward to week on the Tom and Jerry Team! My husband and I use the Tom and Jerry movie as a bench mark for how bad a movie can be. So far it continues to be the worse movie but we are now much more likely to check in and DNF if we are both hating something so perhaps not the fairest to leave as the worse. I have two books that I am planning on starting this week. I added them to the spreadsheet but as I looked at the prompts I wasn't sure how they would fit. They are both cult related and I don't really know enough about them yet to really see how they would work. I will have to fill the spreadsheet in as I start reading.
I have a feeling this challenge will be a lot of "I'm reading the book, I'll see how it fits once I read it", which is fine!
Hi team. Looking forward to reading with you. Really unsure how this will work, but I guess I will figure it out as I go.
Hello all, as veteran overthinker I can see this might be tricky! Unusually I have two books on the go atm. I’m really struggling with The Ten Thousand Doors of January so I’ve had two non-fictions butt in so far.
Hello. I am looking forward to this reading week. I am currently in the middle of two books, I definitely want to finish this week: The History of Sound and My Family & Other AnimalsAfter these two books I plan on reading one or two more books. No idea what I will be picking up, though.
Don't overthink it! Basically anything can count, it's more about answering the questions with the group than it is about getting books to fit perfectly.
(The other mods warned me this would happen but I liked the idea too much to not see how it goes lol)
I ended up not finishing my book yesterday, and I was up at midnight with a sick toddler so I got 116 pages read after midnight, which I'm going to count for this read a thon lol.
Question: What's one thing that can instantly make your day better?
Book: The Otherwhere Post
Answer: A note from a friend! The book is a fantasy world where two regions are cut off from each other and only couriers who can do magic can transport letters between the two regions.

I've also copied over the TPBM page from Team Batman & Robin (bless them) for us to have a list of all the TPBM books in one place. If someone wants to update it from here, you can, or I can copy it over as they add updates (I keep them all open all during the Read-a-thon so it's not a huge deal).
If anyone was planning on reading any of those books, let us know so we can plan for that!

I’ve just seen The Final Revival of Opal & Nev come up on the TPBM page and I could definitely read that this week.
Oh great Joyce!
I'm seeing Lula Dean's Little Library of Banned Books on the list, and that is my book club's pick of the month so I'll definitely be reading it as soon as my library hold comes through (I'm next in line). Hopefully that's this week and we can use it!

I've finished another book (I swear I'm not a fast reader, these were just almost complete when the day started).
Question: How do you show kindness to others?
Book: The Rom-Commers
Answer: Caring for them when they are sick! In the book, the main character takes care of her father after he has a camping accident.

Hi yall! Happy to join in on another readathon - just started Seoulmates by Jen Frederick so hopefully I can finish that in a day or two.
I finished The Secret Garden and added it to the spreadsheet. I hope I did it right. I am a little confused about the TPBM books. Are those extra points or if we read one of those is that used instead of answering a question? Maybe both or neither? LOL I am confused.
Edit - no longer confused :)
I’ve finished Strong Female Character and added it under “definition of success” purely from the title. It’s by Fern Brady who might be familiar from the UK show Taskmaster. She was diagnosed as autistic in her mid thirties and the book is mostly about the pre-diagnosis pain and chaos she felt negotiating a world she didn’t understand without any support. She has created remarkable success but life now is not primarily the focus of the book.
Hi everyone! I finished All of You Every Single One by Beatrice Hitchman. I put it as how I would want to spend my birthday, because I would like to spend my birthday with my found family, all of them, every single one. Up next is Anthropocene Reviewed!
Great work team! We've answered five questions and have zero wild cards yet - don't forget to log your pages and hours!
Anyone have a TPBM book in progress? or coming up soon?

Hi everyone! I finished Yours Truly yesterday and put it in for "What’s your comfort movie or show?" as they watch Schitt's Creek in the book!I also highlighted the completed prompts in blue on the Plans tab so we can easily see what hasn't been filled yet.
I should finish Dream Count today, there are a couple of good ones that fit!
I finally finished The Ten Thousand Doors of January and entered it as a plan for a zombie apocalypse. Skedaddling through a door into another world seems like a pretty good idea as long as they don’t follow!I’m moving on to The Final Revival of Opal & Nev because it’s a TPBM book though it doesn’t look like a particularly quick read.
I started Forager: Field Notes for Surviving a Family Cult today. Got 4.5 hours in but can’t get to spreadsheet until tomorrow so will update then. Hopefully can finish it tomorrow.
I finished my first book. The History of Sound was amazing. It works for the TPBM recommends tasks. Should I put it under this category or choose another one? Or both?
Hi. I'm reading We Solve Murders by Richard Osman. I wanted to finish yesterday, but my visit to my sister took longer than expected. I will finish today. I have no idea where it will fit.
Let's use it for TPBM Fee! I think those will be harder to fill than the regular questions.
Ira, what about the hobby question? lol
Ira, what about the hobby question? lol
I would totally use it for that! I debated using Dream Count for it as there's fire on the cover lol. I ended up putting it in for What dreams did you have as a little kid? as it fits both by title and plot.
I finished Forager: Field Notes for Surviving a Family Cult and put it with What's something you've always wanted to learn how to do? I have always thought learning some foraging would be interesting. It would be nice to know what mushrooms/berries etc are edible vs poisonous. I am going to get started on The Girls tonight so hopefully will have a few more pages read to add to the spreadsheet tomorrow.
I finished reading We Solve Murders by Richard Osman. I put it under the hobby question. Feel free to move it if it fits somewhere else better or the space is needed fo another book. I was thinking maybe it loosely fits the board game question (Clue- solving murders)
I’ve finished and enjoyed The Final Revival of Opal & Nev and entered it as the next TPBM recommends book. Next I have When I Sing, Mountains DanceWhich I hope won’t be too sad.
Great work team! I am in the depths of tax season, so even though I'm "off work" today for Mardi Gras, I spent all of naptime getting work done, and the toddler doesn't allow much reading focus haha! I'll likely get more audio in this week than print, but that's ok.
Emily you forgot to mention your work as a mod for a busy book group. I will probably do a lot of audio this week as well. Its nice to have that option for times when your hands are busy but room in your head to pay attention to a book.
I had jury duty today so hoped to get a lot of reading in but I didn't get as much done as I'd hoped. I was done by lunch time (not on the jury) so had to go to work.
I finished The Anthropocene Reviewed: Essays on a Human-Centered Planet and put it under If you had unlimited money to start your own business, what would it be? If I had unlimited money I would start a foundation focused on funding inexpensive and effective health interventions for those who most need it. Understanding the "anthropocene" would be a major part of that venture
I love that answer, Caitie!
John Green's newest nonfiction book came out yesterday - Everything Is Tuberculosis: The History and Persistence of Our Deadliest Infection

I'm so excited to read it! He's so great. I love his podcasts with Hank too.
Caitie wrote: "I finished The Anthropocene Reviewed: Essays on a Human-Centered Planet and put it under If you had unlimited money to start your own business, what would it be? If I had unlimited ..."I hope you get loads of money this sounds like a great business. I enjoy Hank Green on Tic Tok so should probably give his non fiction a look.
I should finish The Girls tonight. I can’t update the spreadsheet tonight but will in the morning. I think I am starting The Reading List tomorrow.
I’ve finished the lyrical When I Sing, Mountains Dance and entered it for best vacation. At a time when my partner and I had consuming caring commitments we managed to patch together 11 days off. We were heading for Scotland but the forecast was for rain every day so, in a moment of unusual spontaneity, we bought £10 flights to Girona and spent our time exploring the Catalan Pyrenees. We slept in our tiny hire car, ate bread and cheese and saw almost no one. It was late spring so the rivers were full of meltwater with flowers and butterflies everywhere. The best.
That sounds amazing.I finished Scattered Showers: Stories by Rainbow Rowell. It's a collection of short stories I came across while in the high school library for a marching band meeting and I have loved her books, though haven't read her more recent stuff. In one of the stories, the main character waits in line for the newest Star Wars movie, which was The Force Awakens in the book. It fit perfectly for your favorite way to spend a day off. I was also happy that two of the stories featured characters from Fangirl and Attachments (the latter underrated but excellent) though it's been so long since I read them that I didn't remember much.
Need to figure out what's next on audio.
Oh I did love Attachments when I read it (less so Fangirl, but that's because I wasn't the target audience, not because it wasn't good).
I ended up starting Funny Story today but not sure how much I will get read in the next few days. I may not check in tomorrow but should have time for more reading and checking in on Saturday.
I finished Swept Away last night! Using it for "Who do you most like spending time with?" - the couple in the book are stuck at sea and spend a lot of time together haha! If I'm not alone, I'd rather be with my husband.
A Killing in November turned out to be a real page turner. It’s a mystery featuring odd couple detectives set in and around my native Oxford. It does, however, feature a pet peeve I’ve only recently started to notice: Americanisms in books by British authors set in Britain. I imagine editors slip them in hoping for an international market but, heavens, that oft-repeated setting is a caravan site not a trailer park!
I finished Many Lives of Mama Love. I put it under causes I’m passionate about which is restorative justice
