Second that!

Bummer we didn't get a win, but it's been fun reading along w/y'all!

I've so enjoyed my deep dive into ID this round, just like my GR/SOS friends said I would.

But it was definitely fun reading with you both, and I enjoyed the In Death semi-binge as well :-)
Not sure how many I'll read between now and the next round of Bingo hehe. We shall see.

Second that!"
Thanks! It is useful - it’s workplace investigation training, so it’s actually super interesting, it’s just grueling and we have a test on the material tomorrow. 😱

It has been a blast you guys. I have to say this has been one of the most fun times I’ve had playing! My test is first thing Friday morning, so I’ll check in after that and see where we are. If the other team hasn’t posted a win yet, I’ll pick a book for the week 😊

I'm interested to see if I continue to feel a pull to read on or not w/out the BSB push. I’ve definitely become attached to all of the characters and more are worming their way into my heart with each book.

That does sound interesting. How’d your test go?

That makes 😁 so happy to hear!

Date Read: 25th May
Rating: 4 stars
How it fits: Eve and Roarke make a really good couple
Review:
Interesting concept on the villain and the suspects, one of them being an expert on serial killers. It's certainly fascinating, in a terrifying way, to figure out what makes them tick or what makes them do what they do.
Peabody is about to take the detective's exam and it's hilarious how nervous she gets. It was even more hilarious when she got the results. Crazy bunch of characters this, and I like their dynamic.

That does sound interesti..."
Oh I don’t know. It was really tough, I’m not sure I passed. I’ll know in 60 days though. 😕

I just finished my book, but I’ll have to do my posts in the morning. It’s 2 am right now and I’m dead tired ..

Portrait in Death by J.D. Robb
Series: In Death #16
Shelf #13: L - Lovers
Read: 23 May
Rating: ✮✮✮✮☆
My Review:
Only the mad would call this madness. Only the blind will look and not see.The murderer in this installment is photographing the dead and sending the pictures to Nadine. The way Eve's mind works is fascinating. I was lost on this one. I had no idea who was killing these young people, even after Eve was able to piece together the likely why.
"Chipper's my middle name. I'm going out to spread joy and laughter to all of mankind."It was just Eve's luck - the first time we witness her true joy and excitement, this time over Summerset's impending vacation, she completely jinxes herself by celebrating a tad too early. Oh Galahad, what have you done? 🤭
"I feel stupid."When Roarke shuts out Eve she's unsure how to react. What's wrong? Has she done something? Should she push? Thankfully, Mira's there to reassure her and set her on a path to answers. But, unsurprisingly, it's Feeney who gives her the conclusive push in the direction she's needed most -- to Dublin, with her man, who is digging into parts of his past he thought were closed to him forever.
"No, sweetheart. You feel married."
There were some rollercoaster moments:
≈ Roarke's discoveries
≈ Peabody's taking the next step - personally & professionally
≈ Trueheart's close call
≈ Baxter's growth
≈ Eve's marriage rules

Book: Easton
Pages: 245
How it fits: MM Romance
Date Read: 5/25
Rating: 4 stars
Review: Easton is the youngest of three brothers, and might be the most broken. He lost his twin sister at 9 years old, and believes that her death is his fault. But he keeps her close in his heart and mind, literally talking to her dead ghost in his head. He has emotional issues that go so deep, it's hard to see how his story could ever have a happy ending. But Archer Thorn is an exceptional guy, perhaps the only one who pull East out of his self-destructive cycle. While the story is really moving and the two men do find their way to each other, I did find it somewhat repetitive after a while of Easton's negative self-talk. But I was glad that it ended on a happy note and am looking forward to reading the next book.
