Prologue - Ch 10: (view spoiler)[Wow. Okay, this started off on a very interesting note. I had a feeling she was going to kill the guy, and I'm okay with it. Very intense but seemed well-deserved at the same time. Could just be me thinking that, though. I do think there's going to be way more drama between Raeve and her employer since they have different missions. I also have lots of questions and can't wait to get those answers. (hide spoiler)]

Ch 11-20: (view spoiler)[So is Kaan the hooded male? Also, is he royalty? And are the diary entries his? Or someone else? I have so many questions, and it probably doesn't help that I'm listening to the audiobook. As for Raeve, I feel really bad for her. Not only for Essi, but now she's captured. Also, is she The Other? Like not necessarily an alter ego but someone like that. If she isn't, I will riot because when she mentioned she doesn't remember things but will wake up with a weird taste in her mouth, it makes me think she turns into this thing. Ch 21-30: (view spoiler)[Ah, okay, they officially know each other now. I am intrigued by the hatchlings, but then Rygun saving Raeve was kind of funny. These two, Kaan and Raeve, love to flirt by stating they are going to kill the other. It's entertaining. As for the diary entries, I was definitely off thinking they could be his. So maybe his wife? Also, I can see Raeve not trusting anyone being a huge issue/annoyance, but I mean... isn't it better to be suspicious first?!?! (hide spoiler)]

She's starting to remember things/people, but again, it doesn't make sense to her, and she is back to not trusting anything or anyone. I have a feeling this miscommunication or assumption as to why she would leave Kaan for another, but I do appreciate everyone being protective over him. Hopefully we figure it all out because, based on the diary entries, it's not like she did it out of love. (hide spoiler)]

It honestly makes me feel really bad for her because she obviously wants to let him in. Other than that, I'm really sad about Slatra. I did not expect that one bit. (hide spoiler)]

Ch 81-Epilogue: (view spoiler)[Okay, wow. She accepted Elluin in a way, and I'm hoping things can only get better between her and Kaan. I'm not shocked in the slightest when it came to her realizing all the lies surrounding her daughter. I really hope that we get a reunion in the next book. I still have no idea who is behind the kidnapping, though, and this will probably drive me insane until the big reveal. (hide spoiler)]

Oh good you've finished, that means I can complain about (view spoiler)[ the internal lake without ruining it for you lol. A friends mentioned how annoying this was and now I can't help but notice it every time and it's very annoying. Apart from that I'm enjoying it so far, having the glossary and the character list has been so helpful. The first time I started this I was doing the audio and was so confused. When Kaan POV popped up I was still like who the fuck is this but this time I was able to find out who and I'm still like wait what he's the king, why is this not mentioned in his chapter, seems pretty important. It was so sad when Essi died and I'm very confused about this other, but am looking forward to having it explained. That she bit off his finger is bad ass but also gross lol. (hide spoiler)]

Oh no this was me the first time, having the book to refer to definety helps but hopefully it all made sense in the end. The audiobook chapters are also different, I'm on 17 in the book which is 21 in the audio and is making the flipping between both that I want to do much harder.

I like her and Kaan together, but because he loves her for who she was, it’s hard. I’m glad we got the dairy entries to see how their relationship developed, that helps but we’re still missing a bit.

(view spoiler)[ I really enjoyed this and how it all came together, I felt very vindicated that my theory was right. I did not put together that the princess was her kid until much later though, once I knew that I knew she was his daughter too. I was very confused by the epilogue, it felt like it was supposed to be a big reveal but I read it twice and still didn't understand what was happening.
Overall, this book had a lot of potential. I wish it had been traditionally published from the start because it needed better editing. (hide spoiler)]
