In the early 1990s borrowed a book with accompanying audio cassette from the library. I think the cover may have been greyish. I think the opening line in the book was "Waiting, waiting, waiting for the train. Looking down the long, grey tracks" I think the book goes on to talk about the first hints of the train coming - seeing the smoke, hearing the whistle, feeling the vibrations, etc. Possibly also about all the people waiting and details about various different people in the crowd but that is all rather vague in my mind.

All Aboard the TrainWaiting
Waiting
Waiting for the train,
looking down the long, gray tracks.
I think I hear the train.
I see the train!
Here it comes,
zooming down the tracks.
There is no huff,
no puff,
no chug,
no choo.
The diesel train is zooming through.
