In my opinion, I think the ending was pretty confusing to me honestly, because it was either the aftermath of maze runner or right after the the flare virus started. Well it was right after the flare virus have started. I couldn't believe that the main character have made the maze after all and and it couldn't be destroyed unless the main character "Thomas" wanted to. Then there was many kids that was experimented and they had to search for everything before they were sent to the maze and they did eventually been sent to the maze when they were teenagers to adults including the creator of the maze Thomas. But before going to the maze, Thomas actually met some members that were going to be trapped inside the maze soon and they were all friends. Few days later, their memory was basically wiped out even they almost forgot their name. The biggest plot twist in the maze runner series for me was that Thomas was the one that built the Maze. There was another plot twist where Teresa and Thomas was also the one that experimented their friends before putting them inside the pit or you can call it the pit.
