Alright, so I’m thinking about diving into The Empyrean series and grabbing Fourth Wing, but I need a spice level check first. Are we talking 'I need to submerge myself in Antarctic bottom water and reevaluate my life choices,' or just 'this is hot, but not hot enough to leave a third-degree burn'?
I don’t mind some smut, but I’m not really in it for that. For reference, I made it through The Curse of Saints, Fear the Flames, and the first two Crescent City books without quite batting an eye.
Also, are the sex scenes plot-critical? Like, is there game-changing lore hidden between the sheets, or could I theoretically skip those parts without missing a world-altering revelation? Thanks to anyone who answers!
ummmm I mean I wouldn’t say they’re SUPER intense, but yes they are pretty vital to the story. I mean you could skip over them but then you might run into some plot holes when continuing the series. I wouldn’t say there’s a ton either. i’ve seen people post about it that those scenes take up like 2% max of the book it’s really not a lot
Yes, they are explicit and I skip them. There were 4 different scenes I skipped through in the most recent book, and I highly doubt there was anything useful to the plot in those pages.
