I have read many books set during WW2 and featuring a young women working with the resistance, so this was not a new story. This one did, however, have a twist in terms of who betrayed the resistance group, and it was not a twist I was expecting, or indeed thought fit in with what I had learned about the characters. Apart from the twist, there was nothing original in this book compared to the many other similar ones I have read, and this is probably why I had resisted picking it up for so long, despite having bought it when it was first published, and really enjoyed other books by this author. There was nothing that particularly stood out in this book, and the events were often just too convenient to believe. It was definitely not a bad book by any means, but there are just so many other similar books to this one out there that are better, and that I would recommend more.
