Thanks Martin — though the actual book (copy in my hand) has the Penguin logo on the bottom-right, as shown in the Amazon image I linked to, so that is both more accurate and higher resolution.

The image on Amazon is still much better quality. The new manually cropped image for the book has now cropped off the left and right edges of the design, which distorts it from how the book actually looks, where the words don’t run off the edge and there’s space at the side of them.

Could it please just be replaced with the better quality Amazon image?

In that case you are not requesting a better cropped image, you are requesting a different cover.
We do not change covers. If the cover you want is not yet on Goodreads you can request a further edition at 'adding new books & editions'

You can see from the image on Amazon it’s the same cover. But for whatever reason the image that was on Goodreads (see original post) had white lines on it due to some kind of error that aren’t on the book itself.

Surely this isn’t requesting a new cover, it’s just requesting a better quality image, which I’ve requested and had actioned by Librarians multiple times on this exact thread. Surely requesting a new edition is just creating work for Librarians when this is just an image quality issue and not a different cover?

NB. That cover exists already on multiple copies on Goodreads but not attached to this ISBN, and with multiple other issues (wrong author name, wrong title, no page count etc.)

Hi Martin,

The cover I’ve linked to on Amazon - the one for this ISBN - doesn’t have the logo. It’s an exact match to the one that’s already up other than the cropping.

The Penguin logo was on the incorrectly linked Kindle edition, which Scott pointed out.

The original cover that was badly cropped (leaving white lines) was uploaded almost 13 years ago. You can visibly see it is a low rez, low quality image (horrible color calibration) even afer a second cropping to remove the white lines which now cuts off part of the cover margins.

Are you no longer allowed to replace lower quality covers with hi-rez Amazon covers as long as the ISBN and other book data matches the cover?
