PattyMacDotComma | 590 comments Aussie author Michael Trant's Gabe Ahern character is just the right tracker to navigate difficult bush terrain to find gold thieves and murderers. Blood and Gold is the third in this excellent outback series. Fun to read and great narration if you're a listener.

PattyMacDotComma | 590 comments I was just introduced to D.S. George Cross, a clever English police officer with autism, who notices the details others miss. The Dentist, by Tim Sullivan, is the first of a series that is getting a lot of attention, including mine. 😊

Donne | 38 comments I am officially hooked on this series having read the first two installments this month and have the third and newest installment already on my to-read list coming up soon. This one was even better than the last one.

Shades of Mercy (Porter Beck, #2) by Bruce Borgos - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

If you need a break from all the murder and mayhem that you typically read, this is such a wonderful feel good story.

PattyMacDotComma | 590 comments Aussie author Benjamin Stevenson's third "Everyone" mystery may have been titled Everyone This Christmas Has a Secret to attract Christmas gift shoppers last year, but you can enjoy it whenever you're in the mood for something a little offbeat.

PattyMacDotComma | 590 comments I recently re-read a favourite first book in a series for a group read - it was a nice excuse to revisit Sebastian St Cyr, Viscount Devlin, in London in 1811. He's accused of murder, so while dodging the police, he puts his army intelligence experience to good use to find the villain and save himself.

Perfect blend of history and mystery.

Donne | 38 comments I've just read two really good crime thrillers/murder mysteries. The first was a historical fiction story that had been languishing on my to-read list since Dec2022. So glad that I finally got around to reading it.

What Angels Fear (Sebastian St. Cyr, #1) by C.S. Harris - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

The second was the latest installment of one of my fave series.

Rage (Kate Burkholder, #17) by Linda Castillo - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
