50.1 Meg's Task: The best of 2024

This is a 3 book task. Read 1 book for each option.
Your books must have a total page count of 750+ pages when combined and no kids/graphic novels allowed.

Book 1: Your Favorite of 2024
Choose your favorite book read during 2024. There are no restrictions on what you choose, it doesn't have to have been used for SRC. Read a book by the same author or a book from the "Readers also enjoyed" section of your favorite book's page
Required: Post a link to your favorite 2024 book.

Book 2: The Best of 2024
Read a book that won or was nominated/short-listed/long-listed for any prize in 2024. The award must be listed on the book's goodreads page and specify 2024.
Required: Name the 2024 award.

Book 3: Looking to 2025
Read a book by an author who is releasing a new book in 2025.
Any 2025 release will work. Or you can read from the backlist of an author who has an upcoming release.
If an author writes under more than one name, the name on the GR book page will be used and these must match.

You can be inspired by these lists (but you don't have to use them).

Robin P | 1609 comments Great task! Does being nominated for GR Choice count as nominated for a prize?

Thanks
Yes it counts

Julia (julia103) | 2717 comments For book 3, can we use a book with two authors?

2025 release: Diviner's Bow by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller

Prior book by the same two authors: Ribbon Dance

Meg (megscl) | 2466 comments yes with the two same authors, that works

Trish (trishhartuk) | 3675 comments Morning.

Could you confirm this one for me.

The books I'm using for my favourite read (I had several) is The Lost Bookshop, with the author names stated as Evie Woods/Evie Gaughan

The one I want to read here is The Story Collector, with the author names Evie Gaughan/Evie Woods.

Both Evies are actually the same person. Does it matter that the order of names is different in the second book to the first?

Also, for the 2025 book, if you read a backlist book, it doesn't need to be in the same series as the 2025 release, does it? For example, Anthony Horowitz is releasing his third Susan Ryland book in April 2025 - Marble Hall Murders, so I could read any Horowitz book?

Yes for the Evies. I'd count them as 2 of the same author.
And series isn't relevant, so any Horowitz is fine

KSMary | 1181 comments For #3, I'd like to read The Bullet That Missed by Richard Osman

This shows that #5 in the series is expected to be released Sept 2025: https://nextnewbooks.com/authors/rich...
