Drace (dracenines) | 7367 comments So, an author self-publishes an ebook that's available on her storefront website as a pay-what-you-want download. It does not have an ISBN. The ebook is available in epub format and PDF format, but aside from the file type, there is no difference between the two editions. Should the PDF ebook and the epub ebook be listed as separate editions on Goodreads (which is the situation they're currently in), or should they get merged?

GR considers PDF books as 'ebook' format, no different than epub books. They should be merged. If the PDF edition has an accurate page count, that can be used as the ebook page count since normal page count rules can be applied to PDF files. I would recommend notating in the librarian note the source of the page count (PDF)

Thanks for the input, I figured it was something along those lines but wanted to confirm.

If any librarians would also like to chime in here so that I can link to this thread when I request a superlibrarian merge for the book in question, it would be very much appreciated.
