Nicole (nkb992) | 35 comments Aimee, I go to college in Virginia too! At William & Mary. I hope you enjoy your first year :) I'm going to be a sophomore next year. UVA was definitely on my college list when I was applying but William & Mary was just right for me. I know a ton of people who go there and love it though! I'm sure you will too.

message 552: by Kelcie (new)

Kelcie (klps) Hi guys, I'm Kelcie and new here--both to goodreads and to the group! I'm a 21 year old student at American University going into my senior year. I'm a print journalism major with a lit minor, and (since I'm here) I love to read. Summer's my favorite reading season, since school is out, so I'm on a bit of a kick right now. Great to meet all of you!

message 553: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (norse11) Hey! I'm Stephanie. Just graduated with my bachelor's degree in Nursing from Northern Kentucky University and will shortly be starting as an RN at a local hospital. I didn't have much time at all to read during college (for fun, of course) so now that I'm done, I finally have the time to read whatever I want! It's awesome. Glad to join the group. :]

message 554: by Nicki (new)

Nicki (ophia) | 85 comments Hi, my name is Nicki. I'm 26 and still in grad school. I'll have my EdS (between a Masters and a PhD) in school psychology in May 2013.

I've been a reader since I was small but I'm reading more now since I work in a library, great job and free tuition. I took a Young Adult literature class last semester for fun and as a result I have a HUGE reading list.

message 555: by Katie (new)

Katie Rodante (katierodante) Hey everyone. I'm Kate. I'm 25, and studying law (to be a paralegal, not a lawyer), French, and business management. I live in Dallas, Texas and although it's 100 degrees here just about everyday recently, I still enjoy it a lot.

I love to read YA novels and graphic novels. I read a lot of books as a kid, then there were a bunch of years where I rarely read at all, and now I'm back to reading a few books at a time & at least 50 books in a year. Reading makes for a happier life, I think. :)

Nice to meet you all!

message 556: by Kai (new)

Kai smith | 1 comments Hi, I'm kai, I'm from Florida and working towards a bachelors in integrative biology from USF. When I'm not studying, I love road trips, camping, hiking, and reading

message 557: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (prettypieceoffiction) | 3 comments Hello all!
My name is Wendy. I live in California and attend CSUSB. I am studying Psychology and Human Development. I have loved reading since a young age :) Other than that I love going on bike rides and having movie marathons!

message 558: by Jennifer (last edited Jul 02, 2011 01:26PM) (new)

Jennifer (jennifer_b) Hi!

I'm Jennifer, and I'm from Texas. It's also over 100 degrees here, and I love it! I go to school in Kentucky, and, while we get some heat here, it's always accompanied with humidity. I just want the dry heat.

I'm just a sophmore, so the major thing isn't that important to me right now. I just keep taking math and English classes because those are my two favorites. I'm definitely leaning more toward math right now because I don't like writing. I just like to read.

message 559: by Karmen (new)

Karmen (karmencollective) Hey Everyone! I am Karmen, I am brand new. I just started participating in the groups on GR. I am a Junior year college student studying Secondary Ed. major in English, minor in Spanish. I love reading, especially my guilty pleasure, YA fiction.

message 560: by Sashana (new)

Sashana Welcome to the group, everyone :)

message 561: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Hi! I'm Rebecca, and I live in Tennessee. I just joined this group today after finding goodreads on stumbleupon (what good luck)! I attend Ole Miss studying Accounting and Public Policy Leadership, neither of which provide mind-stimulating reads, so I'm here seeking my own. Glad to be here!

message 562: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (danielleeyypop) Hey all! I'm Danielle, 19 year old college student going for pharmacy, I live in Arizona and I love reading and when I'm not reading I love camping, although I read then too :P

message 563: by Sashana (new)

Sashana Welcome to the group, Rebecca and Danielle!

message 564: by Shelby (new)

Shelby (shelbysosp) Hello! My name is Shelby Sorensen. I'm 20 years old and I'm going to University of Nevada, Reno for my B.S. for Information Systems and Computer Science. I love to travel and want to be able to move to a large city after I finish school far away from Reno, where I have grown up all my life. I want to get into publishing maybe or programming after college and maybe go into beauty school just for a side job. Books and my life as is music but not as much. After graduation, I plan to backpack around the Europe and Asia hopefully as well.

message 565: by Julianna (new)

Julianna Haubner Hi Everyone! I'm Julianna, a 19 year old English and History double major and Italian minor at Colby in Maine. I joined this group after finding it during a goodreads browsing session at work (gotta love slow days!). I've been reading for as long as I can remember, and am even more motivated during the summer to get some titles knocked off my list because I've found there isn't much time during the school year. I'm a huge fiction fan, but am pretty much open to anything that sounds interesting. Glad to be here! :)

message 566: by Sami (new)

Sami (samisayss) | 5 comments Hey everyone!
I'm Sami,19 and from Southern California.
I just joined this site, and I can't wait to get to know you all! (:
Hmm...I really enjoy traveling, drinking coffee, writing, reading, the outdoors, learning, watching movies, etc.
I feel like my favorite book changes every month, but some of my all time favorites are The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Great Gatsby, The History of Love, and probably 345887498234 more that I can't remember right now ;)
I'm really into indie/alt music, so if we have that in common, I will love you! If we don't, i'll find another reason to love you!

and welcome to the site!

message 568: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (jsnail) Hi! I'm Jessica, a 21 year old Georgia resident. I normally go to Georgia State University, but I've been out for going on 2 years for medically issues - like I'm getting my hip replaced on August 25th (aka I need a lot of books to read). When I'm in school I'm a Psych major and I'm looking to add some sort of minor when I return in the spring.

I just finished both The Hunger Games Trilogy and The Millenium Trilogy. I just started reading Water For Elephants.

I look forward to getting to know you guys and reading some great books! =]

message 569: by Annie (new)

Annie (lotsoflaughs) | 2 comments Hey! I'm Annie, a 21 year old. I graduated college in May and I have an internship starting in the fall in Boston. Until then I am enjoying life on Cape Cod, working a part time job, and having plenty of time to sit on the beach and read.

I just started using this site to find new books to read and hopefully meet people who also love to read. :)

Adam | 83 comments Annie wrote: "Hey all, I'm a freshman at Bryn Mawr College outside of Philadelphia. I'm pre-med, majoring in neuroscience.

I love dystopias and fantasy/sci-fi too!

Neuroscience is also quite fascinating... but I could never be any kind of a doctor.

message 571: by Kenzie (new)

Kenzie | 2 comments Hi all, I'm Kenzie. I just graduated from the University of Colorado with a BA in English lit. I have no idea what I'm going to do with that, but I'm super excited to have found in group that shares my interests!

message 572: by Justin (new)

Justin | 2 comments Hey everyone! My name's Justin and I've just finished my business degree at Carleton University in Ottawa. I'm still waiting to find a job in the banking industry, but in the mean time it gives me time to catch up on reading etc. I also love photography so if anyone else is on Flickr, let me know!

William Jorgensen (will_jorgensen) | 12 comments Hey All,

I'm Will from Sydney Australia.

Studying chemistry at The University of Sydney.
Hope to do some study in the US in the coming years.

Hope everyone is well,

Will

message 575: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (jsnail) Hello Will!

Studying Chem? Geeez. I did well in high school, but college chem must be super hard!

message 576: by William (new)

William Jorgensen (will_jorgensen) | 12 comments Hey Jess,

Well I only put studying chem so it sounded like I was still in college.
Truth is I graduated 2 years ago with a major in organic chemistry and now I am studying a PhD in synthetic medicinal chemistry. It's a glorified way to say, "I make drugs!"

It isn't hard at all. If you can bake a cake (i.e. follow a recipe) then you can synthesise chemicals.
The only problem is, if you incorrectly add too much or too less of an 'ingredient' then instead of your cake not rising, or being dry, you have an explosion :D.

Welcome :D

Hope to see you around the interwebs.

(Apologies for spelling your name wrong originally)

message 578: by Pi (new)

Pi Ka | 1 comments Hi :)
I am 20 years old, student of Restoration and Conservation at Faculty of Arts. Probably graduating next year :) Stoneworks, frescoes, archeological finds, architectural conservation and textile simply fascinate me.

For fun I like to read science fiction, horror and satirical works.
To feed my soul I love to read some philosophy, greek tragedies, Ernesto Sabato Shakespeare, Baudelaire, Emile Zola, Borges.
For some awkward reason (that I have yet to figure out) literature from Russian, Argentinian, French and German authors suits me best.

So apart from excessive reading I have a passion for all sorts of vintage things, writing gothic, cursiva and other old fonts, drawing & painting....ow and travelling! :D

message 579: by William (new)

William Jorgensen (will_jorgensen) | 12 comments Hey Sigrun,

I think you will find that there are quite a few people on here who would have similar literary tastes as your own.

Just saying welcome and have fun :)

Will

message 580: by Ema (new)

Ema So hi!

My name's Ema, I have to guess that I'm a bit younger than almost everyone in this group, but am very familiar with the college life. I'm still trying to decide if that makes me fortunate or unfortunate.

My life revolves around books. And I like to eat alot. Besides that, I'm quite dull.

lol. We might end up having to do that! It could get confusing. When I was in high school there were 4 Kimberlys in the theatre department. It made things interesting. ;)

Oh goodness, that must have been so confusing. Haha. Luckily, while there were other Kimberly's in high school, they mostly weren't in my classes.
