Glad you'll be reading along with us, Teri-K! I know how you enjoy Mary Stewart! :)
Teri-k, we are planning an October 15 start to reading Touch Not the Cat. Love it that you will join us!
Terry and Terris , I'll join in this buddy read too : Touch not the Cat , by Mary Stewart . I was hesitating because I've some offline commitments from 16th to 23rd October which might lessen my reading time in that interval . Sara and Terri-k's comment on this book made me absolutely decide to join in ! The blurb , too , is enticing !

Terry wrote: "Teri-k, we are planning an October 15 start to reading Touch Not the Cat. Love it that you will join us!"It's on my calendar!
Kimberly wrote: "I will join also - if I can get the book in time"Oh good, Kimberly! I couldn't believe that my own library had a copy on their shelves! They rarely have the books I want to read -- I usually have to order them. I'm happy they have this one just waiting for me ;)
Savita wrote: "Thank you , Terris ! 😊"You're welcome, Savita! And I wanted you to know that I just purchased your book The Road and The Lamp: The Sparkle on the Travelling Soul -- I'm excited to read it!
Terris wrote: "Savita wrote: "Thank you , Terris ! 😊"You're welcome, Savita! And I wanted you to know that I just purchased your book The Road and The Lamp: The Sparkle on the Travelling Soul --..."
@Savita : You wrote a book? Whenever I try I get only one or two word on the page I struggle and write a little. Great stuff like 'er', or 'wow this is difficult'.
Terris, thank you for alerting us to this! Savita, I am so thrilled for you and cannot wait to read it!
And I ordered Touch Not the Cat. (Some challenges may be unfinished this year which I find to be a healthy thing.)
Annette wrote: "And I ordered Touch Not the Cat. (Some challenges may be unfinished this year which I find to be a healthy thing.)"I'm feeling healthier already!! ;)

Terris , thank you so much for very your kind words 🙏 ! I do hope that you will enjoy the story , and eventually if you comment on it , of course I will be happy if you find anything thing to appreciate in it , but I'll also appreciate and learn from any negative aspects in the story that you found as a reader ... the valuable , unbiased mirror of the book 's worthiness . So , thank you once again!
[ You 'll find a few typos , Terris, that escaped all my efforts 🤨 ]
Sara wrote: "Terris, thank you for alerting us to this! Savita, I am so thrilled for you and cannot wait to read it!"Sara , thank you, thank you so much for your kind words 🙏! I hold you in such high regard, ever since I have joined Goodreads, and this group , that any comment, from you , on this book, any good that you may find in it , and the not so good that , with all your usual grace , you may point out, I will treasure both as a pathlighter forward 🙏

Luffy , anyone with an author's instinct should not hesitate
to finish what they've started . If you have started a book , don't
stop till you've finished it , put in your very best effort . This is
the advice given to A.J.Cronin , by a simple ,
Scottish farmer , when the former , while writing his debut novel ,
Hatter's Castle , suddenly got so frustrated about how to take the story forward , that he threw down his pen , decided to quit
story writing , and went out for a walk instead. After the farmer's
advice, A.J.Cronin did manage to finish the story , packed it off to
London for publishing, and told himself, " There , I am done with it !
" . Well , Luffy , that book became an overnight sensation 🤔👌 !
Looking forward to reading your book when you've completed it .
Annette wrote: "Congratulations, Savita! I added it to my Read-Soon list!"Thank you so much, Annette 😊 🙏
Keeping my fingers crossed that you will enjoy the story as much as I enjoyed writing it 🤞😊
Sara wrote: "I am laughing at your last line, Annette. I think I might be having a healthy year too."🤣

Thanks for your words of encouragements, Savita. I need to try harder and learn faster to come anywhere near Cronin's work ethic. I have read, from reddit posts, that some people nestle a novel for 10 years or thereabouts. That's a paradoxically humbling number.
I look forward to the BR, and I hope to hear your insights into the book. You have been so very generous with your time to me that am feeling very emotional about it. Thanks for your effort and I will try to buy your book and read it cover to cover.
Daryl wrote: "Hello, would anyone be interested in reading The Nun by Denis Diderot."Just to remind, so that it doesn't get lost among the many messages, that Daryl has proposed reading Diderot in December.
If we exceed two participants, I will be happy to discuss it in a public thread; otherwise, I suggest private messages.
Ascanio, my schedule is full through December and doubt thst zi will finish early. But I will be planning for next year and would like to join in a few buddy reads from your list of authors.
Terry wrote: "Ascanio, my schedule is full through December..."Thank you for the feedback, Terry – I'll keep an eye out for possible buddy reads. In the meantime, happy end-of-year reading!
Touch Not the Cat sounds like my kind of story! Im jusT not sure ill have time for it this year though, or even if i can find a copy. I did put it on my trl and plan to look for it locally, though!@savita you wrote (and published) a book? Thats great! I would love to read it, but unfortunately, i do not have Kindle. I did also put it on my trl, just in case, but most likely wont get to read it. I wish you the best, though!
Okay, everyone talked me into this one ,too. I just heard the words cat and Mary Stewart and knew I was in. And it's Halloween soon too. I have this one on order and it will arrive soon (hopefully). I recently read the first Mary Stewart Merlin novel and then Nine Coaches Waiting and enjoyed them both. So, this one appears to be one quite later in Mary Stewart's novel career (1976 right?).

Ascanio, I’m happy with private messaging if no one wants to join. Speak in December 👍
@ April : It'll be so nice to meet you again in the Mary Stewart thread .. if you can manage to get a copy , and make time for this novel ! Good luck! Also , thank you for your good wishes !
@ Luffy : 😊 👍
I noticed that several people have added Satantango to their bookshelves. If anyone is interested in discussing it, I will be reading it between late October and early November (already reserved my copy).
Franky wrote: "Okay, everyone talked me into this one ,too. I just heard the words cat and Mary Stewart and knew I was in. And it's Halloween soon too. Though she did write a few more after that and didn't pass away until 2014 (98 years old!).
I read the first two Merlin books many years ago and loved them! It would be fun to read the next three to finish up the series. I'll have to keep those on "the list." :)
Several people reading Touch Not the Cat are interested in another Mary Stewart book. Can we read The Moon-Spinners perhaps in December?
Lynn wrote: "Several people reading Touch Not the Cat are interested in another Mary Stewart book. Can we read The Moon-Spinners perhaps in December?"I would be up for that!
Lynn wrote: "Several people reading Touch Not the Cat are interested in another Mary Stewart book. Can we read The Moon-Spinners perhaps in December?"me too :)
I will add the Moon-Spinners to the schedule for December. I am very happy to see the interest in Mary Stewart. She was a pivotal author for me. I think she is one of the reasons I became an avid reader. If you guys continue to read her, This Rough Magic is one you do not want to miss.
Is there still interest in reading Dancing Girls and Other Stories by Margaret Atwood? Maybe early in the year?
Lynn wrote: "Several people reading Touch Not the Cat are interested in another Mary Stewart book. Can we read The Moon-Spinners perhaps in December?"Thanks, Lynn , another lovely read to look forward too .. 😊 ! Yay !
( Though I better buck up with my reading speed of Touch Not the Cat if I don't want to miss the fun of joining in the ongoing spoiler discussion ! )
