Chris | 318 comments I finished Michael Biehl's debut 2002 mystery Doctored Evidence. Shoreview Memorial has loads of dicey problems that have been hidden from view but when an unexpected death of their CFO occurs after a procedure, his friend and hospital Attorney Karen Hayes seeks answers to what happens and uncovers more than she bargained for.

Araych | 681 comments The Burnt Orange Sunrise The Burnt Orange Sunrise (Berger and Mitry, #4) by David Handler by David Handler

Berger and Mitry #4. The plot for this one is sort of And Then There Were None. Big house, terrible storm, power out, no one can leave, people are dying (being murdered?). Not the best in the series -- couple of pretty obvious plot holes. 3 stars.

The Three-Body Problem The Three-Body Problem (Remembrance of Earth’s Past, #1) by Liu Cixin by Liu Cixin

The home planet, Trisolaris, of an alien civilization is essentially uninhabitable, so they have their eyes on Earth.

Araych | 681 comments The Dorothy Parker Murder Case The Dorothy Parker Murder Case (Jacob Singer, #1) by George Baxt by George Baxt

New York 1926. Dorothy Parker, Alexander Woollcott, Robert Benchley and many other members of the Algonquin Round Table work to solve murders -- and along the way we meet George Raft, Florenz Ziegfeld and many others. Very witty very enjoyable mystery starting the day of Rudolph Valentino's funeral. I liked it a lot -- 4 stars.

Short novella on the fringe of the Rivers of London world. FBI agent Kimberly Reynolds goes to Wisconsin in the winter following a report of something weird. Weird? Oh yes. Set in the U.S. not London. Very little humor. No Peter Grant. But I did like it. 3 stars.
