Kelly (Maybedog) (maybedog) | 154 comments This sounds so fun. How often is this played? Somewhere I saw three months, but someone else mentioned it goes all year. If it's three months, when does the next one usually start?

Thanks!

Melindam | 4427 comments We are happy to see both seasoned players and newcomers. :)

Don't worry if the rules may seem confusing at first. Once teams are up and you can start communicate with captains and team members directly and planning will start for the cards, they will show you the ropes and you'll crack them in no time. 😊

I mostly read thrillers and romcom type books... with a sprinkling in of contemporary fiction and celebrity memoirs. I'm willing to read out of my comfort zone though, and often do for my monthly challenge prompts.

Remarkably Bright Creatures was my favorite read of 2024!

📕 I have absolutely no experience with any reading challenges, so I'm excited for this.

📕 Honestly, how do I pick? I'd say horror/suspense, Xianxia, and romance are my big top 3.
📕 My biggest goal is to read books I've bought over the years, prioritizing them over buying more and my library books :)
But I'd say I'd really love to read some memoirs this year!

Wow, you've introduced me to a new genre I've never heard about. I had to look up Xianxia and now I'm intrigued!

I know tons of people read it, but I really enjoyed Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood. I'm usually leary of celebrity memoirs, but it surprised me how much I liked it. That man had a crazy childhood.

But I haaaaaate waiting! Seriously, no worries RL happens. This last year RL was a bit stressful for me and my fam. We just finished closing on the last house of 2 for my parents. We are all in the new house now with a million boxes to unpack and stuff to find a spot for. My dad, aka The Hoarder, is currently and probably continually until he leaves this earth, complaining about all he lost in the Move. The stuff he chose to bring has us all shaking our heads.

Trio good luck in your house hunt. 28 years is about as long as mom and dad were in their home we just sold and the rental 25 years before that. Since they rented to us (their kids) they didn't feel they had to move everything almost 30 years ago. At least The Hoarder didn't feel he needed to.

I'm amazed that some people willingly move every couple of years because TBH it sucks rocks. Actually they probably have it down to a science and don't live with a hoarder. 😒 🤔

Yes, of course, I'd love to share some recommendations! I haven't read a huge selection yet (it's a little hard to find English translations) but the series I have read I 've really enjoyed. From the ones I've read my top two series would be Heaven Official's Blessing (8 books) and the Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation (7 books). As a heads up, the latter does get a little spicy (mainly in book 7), just in case that's not for you.
