This book was the Sunday Times Bestseller and Waterstones Thriller of the Month, so I have high hopes for this!

The story is seen primarily through the eyes of Dr. Anna Jones, a successful heart surgeon who's son is taken from her and she's been told that the only guarantee of his safe return is if she kills one of her patients.

Loved this! Spoilers below !!

I loved this book, there wasn’t one bit I predicted.

Towards the end when she organised for Margot to die so she wasn’t always looking over her shoulder made me realise how truly dark Anna really was, and how confident she is at making huge decisions about who gets to live (a trait from being a surgeon I guess!)

What did people think of the end when her son turns on the electricity when she’s fixing the light?

Erica Nunn | 8 comments I love love loved this book. My favourite parts were the bits where Anna was being questioned by detectives and had to lie that her son was safe.

In regard to the electricity bit I felt like that implied Zach has been either traumatized by what he saw, or that 'the apple doesn't fall for from the tree'!

Yes when she was being questioned that was actually quite stressful as the reader 😅

Am I the only one who felt a bit bad for the female detective? She was made to look like she was going crazy after the loss of her son when actually she was correct the whole time☹️

Erica Nunn | 8 comments Yeah I felt bad for her! She was intelligent & amazingly perceptive yet nobody believed her
