Goodreads Challenge Changes?

Hello everyone! I hope you all were able to make the reading goals you made this year. I barely made it, just in time. This year just wasn't my strongest reading year. But quality was there, which is nice to reflect upon.

I was checking out the Goodreads Challenge on my feed and noticed I was not able to see my friend's challenge, am I missing something?

I like to visit friends' challenge and leave a like on theirs at this end of the year, but I don't see an option for "liking' and not even an option to view them?

Also, I noticed a "Readers' Picks Challenge" and I have a "Diamond Reader," "Challenge Faves," and "Fall Vibes," does anyone know what this is about? Says I have "1 day left 3 of 6 achievements collected."

I’ve read 70 out of 85 books. So many good ones. I’ve upped the challenge several times. I started at 50. I got too ambitious I guess.

I don't know why the other challenges disappeared. Maybe so that we don't compare numbers and make reading a competition? I read more books this year than ever before, but I would be just as happy with 24 books which is my peronal minimum I'd like to read. Hope you had a great year.
Goodreads added these 6 achievements you can reach when you read certain books that are on the goodreads' list of the year. It will end with 2024.

Wow, amazing readers! That is great!

I do wonder about the challenges disappearing like that. I thought the point of it was for a personal challenge and seeing what others are reading, I've gotten ideas from them in the past, perhaps someone did think it was too much about competition and ridded it, too bad.

These achievements are interesting. I never knew about the Goodread's list, aside from the annual best book voting. Good to know!

Well, to this New Year! I chose 24 this year and will be choosing 24 as well, I do the exact same!

I was just wondering about this and saw these posts. I, too,am quite disappointed that they got rid of the challenges.

I read 37 of 40, so I am keeping my goal at 40 for this year. (I had to change it in 2024 from 50 to 40. I just picked a random number in the beginning of the year not knowing how it was going to play out because I typically only read like 10 books a year)

Got 42/42 last year, but that did have me stressing, so this year my goal is 30. The new community challenges look interesting, I'm definitely going to try and get some done.

Too bad about the challenge visibility, I loved seeing people's progress. Hopefully we can still see it when someone finishes theirs. Good luck on everyone's challenges =D

This is awesome to hear the challenges completed, we have some veracious readers in this group. Very inspiring.

I just clicked into the challenge to set a new goals for this year of 24 books again and I noticed they also put in a help/feedback form for the new challenge.

So be sure to fill it out! I suggested how I wanted to be able to view others' challenges and like them like we used to be able to, and I put in a tidbit about the interface as well.

Hopefully they read it and bring the viewing capability back.
