TJ Klune is an author whose books can fit in multiple genres. Right now I'm reading Under the Whispering Door, which deals with the afterlife and includes elements of romance, found family, and personal redemption. Some of Klune's other books could also apply in this category: The House in the Cerulean Sea (found-family, fantasy, romance), Somewhere Beyond the Sea (romance, found-family, fantasy, political allegory), How to Be a Normal Person and How to Be a Movie Star (romance and laugh-out-loud humor).

I love stuff that blends genres in new and fun ways, so I'm looking forward to this task. I would totally recommend Someone You Can Build a Nest In by John Wiswell (cozy fantasy, romance, and horror), Even Though I Knew the End by C.L. Polk (historical fiction, fantasy, crime thriller, romance), Vampires of El Norte by Isabel Cañas (historical fiction/western, horror, romance), The Stepford Wives by Ira Levin (horror, domestic thriller, sci-fi), and Strangers by David Alexander Robertson (SFF and mystery).

I'll especially be keeping my eyes out for horror blends, and historical horror in particular since I really love that stuff and have been wanting to do more, but I'm also interested in seeing any unexpected genre blend suggestions. Some of the ones I'm considering right now are The Hunger by Alma Katsu, The Year of the Witching by Alexis Henderson, The Scarlet Alchemist by Kylie Lee Baker, A Tempest of Tea by Hafsah Faizal, The Hacienda by Isabel Cañas, A Master of Djinn by P. Djèlí Clark, The Tea Master and the Detective by Aliette de Bodard, and The Twisted Ones by T. Kingfisher.

This book I started but never finished. So trying to get all my DNF books actually finished using the Book Riot Challenge this year.

I just finished Starter Villain last night.

I ready it because I love his writing, and it didn't disappoint. Wondering if it would fit somewhere in Read Harder and that's the only challenge that might work.

Just finished ORBITAL by Samantha Harvey (sci-fi/literary fiction). It’s February and GR has a list up of some genre crossing books. Check the main page for a link.

I went with Moon Over Soho, the second in the Rivers of London series, which blends fantasy/magic with police procedural crime in modern London. I'm not normally a fantasy fan, but I read the first with my book group last year and quite enjoyed it, so immediately thought of the series for this category.
