At the end of 2024, looking back, what were your Top 5 or Top 10 ... books of the Year? Care to Share?

message 2: by Samantha (new)

Samantha (samanthakadams) I only got through 23 books so far in 2024 as I only started reading again this year in the beginning of November. These books were actually very good though, even from this small a sample.

1. Project Hail Mary - Andy Weir
2. Fourth Wing - Rebecca Yarros
3. Mistborn - Brandon Sanderson
4. Wrong Place Wrong Time - Gillian Mc Allister
5. Hell Bent - Leigh Bardugo

Ursula Rosien | 1 comments Project Hail Mary is one of my favorites too!

Michael | 1 comments Had a pretty good reading year, here are some of my faves:

Meadowland, John Lewis-Stemple - a calm, meditative observation of the author’s meadow and it’s inhabitants over a year.

Neighborhood Watch, Sarah Reida, over-the-top mystery that follows in the footsteps of Desperate Housewives

Poor Deer Claire Oshetsky, emotionally tense novel about the long arm of grief with a charming (to me) main character

Victorian Psycho, not out until 2025, I was lucky to get an early look. Hilarious, vulgar and blood-soaked homage to gothic tropes and Easton-Ellis’ American Psycho

Death at the Sign of the Rook, Kate Atkinson. My first from this author and I’m the outlier that really loved it. Lots of heart, a twisty mystery and great character s.
