message 5: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2346 comments It looks like a couple other teams have come up with a spreadsheet for this. Do you guys want to do that as well?

Pretty sure we can be blatant and steal one from another Hobbit Hole.

message 6: by Judith (new)

Judith (brownie72011) | 1876 comments I can grab one. I think Sammy has one made too. There just wasn’t an official one when I made the thread.

And this week at work has been completely bonkers of course

message 7: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2346 comments No hurry, we have a while before we start anyway.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you and your potential new head of agency.

message 8: by Judith (new)

Judith (brownie72011) | 1876 comments Thank you! It’s going to be an interesting ride

message 9: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 4427 comments There is now an "official" mastersheet which you can copy.

message 10: by Judith (new)

Judith (brownie72011) | 1876 comments Made a copy of the master sheet and added it to our top post

message 14: by Judith (new)

Judith (brownie72011) | 1876 comments I grabbed a third since it's going to be one of my first reads of the year. I figured with 15 tasks and 4 people we'd all be reading at least 3?

I took #11.

message 15: by Judith (last edited Jan 02, 2025 05:34PM) (new)

Judith (brownie72011) | 1876 comments Jenny,

Did Angie and Claire abandon us? Did they find a new fetish?

I mean, they are likely just busy but . . . they could of found a new fetish for the new year.

message 16: by Claire (new)

Claire | 26 comments Hi Judith, I'm here. I'm here !

Sorry for the silence, I haven't been much on goodreads these last couple of days.

Happy new year !!!

message 17: by Claire (new)

Claire | 26 comments I read the entirety of My December Darling by Lauren Asher yesterday.
Would you count it as a "christmas scene"?

Happy New Year! I figured everyone was just busy :P

Yes, it's giving strong Christmas gingerbread house vibes

message 20: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 1019 comments As the person who was responsible for thinking up this task (sorry! lol), it's a definite yes from me 😉

message 21: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2346 comments Judith, how could anyone abandon us? I'll go give Angie a nudge in case she never put on notifications for this one.

message 22: by Judith (new)

Judith (brownie72011) | 1876 comments Jenny wrote: "Judith, how could anyone abandon us? I'll go give Angie a nudge in case she never put on notifications for this one."

Very true, we are too awesome to abandon.

message 23: by Claire (new)

Claire | 26 comments Sammy wrote: "As the person who was responsible for thinking up this task (sorry! lol), it's a definite yes from me 😉"

Nice. Let’s count it then

message 24: by Angie ☯ (new)

Angie ☯ | 990 comments So sorry, everyone!! I would never abandon you on purpose, (not even for a new found fetish)!! RL hasn't being my friend for the last couple of months and yesterday it threw me another curveball! Hoping things even out to my normal craziness here in a bit.

message 25: by Angie ☯ (new)

Angie ☯ | 990 comments The Hunting Party doesn't work for anything, so let me see what else I'm reading this weekend and I'll claim some spots. Unless I'm reading something that only works for one task, I'm not really picky.

message 26: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2346 comments I don't mind grabbing other tasks either if any of you finish a book that works for one I put my name on.

Well, except the non-fiction one, as I am about to finish that one in a couple of hours.

message 27: by Claire (last edited Jan 08, 2025 04:59AM) (new)

Claire | 26 comments I just finished a YA Fantasy one that has a few letters written in it :)
I just added it to the spreadsheet

message 28: by Judith (new)

Judith (brownie72011) | 1876 comments Nice, that was a good task to luck into

message 29: by Claire (new)

Claire | 26 comments Judith wrote: "Nice, that was a good task to luck into"

Yes. Otherwise I would have gone looking into my unread historicals. But I wasn't exactly in the mood. So it all worked out :)

message 30: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2346 comments I have already grabbed 4 slots, but I just realized that a book on my TBR is tagged German, so I am happy to take that one too. I have a couple of books to finish first, so shout out if one of you wants to grab that task!!!

message 31: by Judith (new)

Judith (brownie72011) | 1876 comments I would just grab it, we have several more sets of tasks to work through!

Also, I just finished Clap When You Land. It's a beautifully, very poetically written book. Highly recommend and recommend on audio over written page.

message 32: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2346 comments Added to my TBR!

message 33: by Claire (new)

Claire | 26 comments I finished the last book I had marked for the first set :)

message 34: by Angie ☯ (new)

Angie ☯ | 990 comments Claire, if you have a book with "dictionary" in text that you want to read, feel free to snag that last task! It will be a couple days before I can get it read.

message 35: by Claire (new)

Claire | 26 comments Thanks Angie. I'll see what I can read and will let you know. :)

message 36: by Claire (new)

Claire | 26 comments I found one that fits that prompt. I'll start it tonight. :)

message 37: by Judith (new)

Judith (brownie72011) | 1876 comments I should be done with my last one for set 1 tonight

message 38: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2346 comments I should be finishing my tagged German book tonight as well, barring interruptions.
This is really really good, by the way.
The Wall by Marlen Haushofer

message 39: by Claire (new)

Claire | 26 comments I'll do my best to finish mine soon so we can move on with set 2

message 40: by Claire (new)

Claire | 26 comments And done ! :) We can move on to set 2

message 41: by Judith (new)

Judith (brownie72011) | 1876 comments Go team! 🙂

message 42: by Judith (new)

Judith (brownie72011) | 1876 comments FYI - my Oxford book can also be used for the University task depending on what else people are reading

message 43: by Claire (new)

Claire | 26 comments Thanks for letting us know Judith.
On my side I'm making my way through my 3rd book for this set. I should probably be able to finish it tomorrow, if not tonight

message 44: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2346 comments My O book which I am starting later today starts off at a university according to the blurb, but I don't know if it continues there. I will change it up on the ss if I think it works.

message 45: by Angie ☯ (last edited Jan 22, 2025 07:48AM) (new)

Angie ☯ | 990 comments I will be reading Murder your Employer and Small Admissions in the next few days. Will either work for "takes place at a Univerity" or MC teaches?

I know a couple of you have read those already.

message 46: by Judith (new)

Judith (brownie72011) | 1876 comments I would say Murder Your Employer takes place at a university. You have to write and thesis and take classes, etc.

It's just not one you'd get a brochure for as they are teaching how to plan a 'deletion' and not get caught. LOL

Small Admissions characters are really the admissions staff at a private school and there aren't any teacher characters aside from minor interactions here and there. Or not directly connected to the school.

message 47: by Judith (new)

Judith (brownie72011) | 1876 comments If someone has an R I can shift some things around.

The Whisper Man has been translated into a bunch of languages and Rag and Bone can work for NORSE (S can come from author name)

I don't have an R, but The Last House Guest by Megan Miranda would work for NORSE.

Oh, wait, we can use Narrator so the same book would have Rebekkah Ross as narrator.

message 50: by Judith (new)

Judith (brownie72011) | 1876 comments Okay, I'll move some books around!
