It includes a lot about his mother's faith and her religious teachings as well as the MC having a crisis of faith. There is even a pilgrimage and a renewal of faith involved.

6. This book is set during the earthquake of 1906. This was a true historical event. The characters, locations, and events in the story are based on some actual events, places, and people. It was interesting to listen to the author's note at the end where the authors spoke about the real events and discussed which parts of the story were made up versus real.

6. I don't want to say too much about the plot, but the series in general is about a lawyer who loves dogs and also has a dog rescue. There is always a lot of talk about Andy's dog(s) and other dogs in the books. In this particular book a dog plays an important part in the story and his case.

6. This book was all about love - finding it, losing it, searching for it, different forms of love. There was a lot of talk about love throughout the book in all the ways I just listed.

6. This book focused a lot on survival of different people, groups, and animals. The sisters survived their upbringing including living with their father who was a survivalist. They also survived some harrowing circumstances when they were older. The wolves have to survive in order to help the rest of the ecosystem survive and the farmers are concerned about their livestock and their own survival. This was a strong theme in the book.
