I cannot follow the steps as it is still showing up under another author. I don't have the option to claim this as my book through the proper steps.

As the other librarian said, this is the brand new author profile that has been created for you. You currently have a user profile. At the bottom of that brand new author page click on let us know.

Actually, we can't remove creators who are legitimately associated with a work, even at their request. Another librarian improperly removed you, but I have added you back in.
