A short story introducing (I believe) the steampunk and magical Cairo of the full novel A Master of Djinn. I would have like this to be a full novel, the story felt rushed. A Master of Djinn is kind of the full novelization, though the stories are technically different there are some repetitive elements. I like Fatma and Siti and really love the universe so any story is good, but I'll keep hoping for a new series novel.

Check Tor website where they post for free short stories and novellas of their authors that are sometimes in a format you can either read in an app on a device or download to print out.

I of course read them in an app on my tablet. 😛

anarresa | 433 comments I had to get an audiobook through my library of Dead Djinn, hadn't found Tram Car anywhere convenient but maybe I'll try Tor direct. Very much hoping the author continues more in the setting and then a collection of the short stories or novella will be re-published together.
