Rod Raglin | 4 comments Hello
In the midst of our culture war, journalist Matt Bennett, has uncovered an inconvenient truth, one that has made him a racist to some and a cultural hero to others. He wants to explain he’s neither, just someone who feels morally obligated to declare his findings, but the only person prepared to give him that opportunity is Lane North, a right-wing commentator. Trying to make it right goes from bad to worse to murder.
That's the blurb for my new novel, The Thin White Line - Culture War with Deadly Consequences. It's a racially charged novel of political suspense, domestic terrorism and murder. If you’re interested in writing an honest review or blogging about the theme of the novel, I’ll gladly gift you (or anyone) an e-book. Contact me at rod_raglin@yahoo.com

Carlisha Writes Co. | 2 comments Be the First to Read Falling Confetti – Seeking Beta Readers!

Dear Maria,

I hope you’re doing well! I’m reaching out because I’m looking for a few dedicated beta readers for my upcoming book, Falling Confetti. Since you love psychological thrillers with an eerie, mind-bending edge, I’d love to invite you to be one of the first to experience this story.

What’s Falling Confetti About?

Daisy wakes up in a fractured version of her home, unsure if she’s escaped a nightmare or stepped into one. The world around her is distorted, memories slip through her fingers, and shadowy figures linger just at the edge of her vision—watching, waiting. Those she meets insist this strange world is real, yet the unsettling gaps in her memory suggest otherwise. As she pieces together eerie clues, Daisy is pulled deeper into a psychological labyrinth where every step blurs the line between reality and something far more sinister. But as the mystery unravels, one question lingers above all: Is she truly awake, or is the real nightmare just beginning?

Beta Reader Expectations?

✅ Story flow & pacing – Does it feel engaging? Are there slow or rushed moments?

✅ Characters – Are they compelling? Do their actions feel believable?

✅ Clarity & world-building – Does anything feel confusing or need more explanation?

✅ Emotional impact – Does the tension, suspense, or eeriness come through effectively?

✅ Overall experience – What did you love? What felt off?

Louise McLaughlin (louise_mclaughlin) | 7 comments If you're looking for new fantasy books, I’d love to offer you an ARC copy of my novel, Discovery. It’s an urban fantasy of 70k words. It’s a story of magic, secret organisations and a heroine who is led by her moral compass. As we follow her journey, we find ourselves asking, did they do the right thing? The novel is a fun fantasy story —perfect for readers who enjoy an easy read and an escape from today’s tumultuous world.

The gods, witches and politicians all enjoy the daily tug-of-war for control. In a world of constant scheming and manoeuvring, their peaceful world of ruining each other’s day was truly disrupted. What if it was all just a distraction keeping everyone busy until They came back home again?

At the urging of her beloved grandmother, Cassie takes an apparently safe and humdrum job in a government office in Glasgow. However, it turns out the conspiracy theorists are right, and there’s more to the civil service than box-ticking and inscrutable acronyms. When Cassie is drawn into a plot involving alien invaders, unscrupulous billionaires and the highest levels of government, she also discovers that living in her home city is a group of semi-retired gods, witches and supernatural beings hidden in plain sight. As Cassie’s true power becomes apparent – she can get people to do what she wants merely by suggesting it to them – she becomes a vital ally against the forces that want to rid the world of gods and humans alike.

They have only 10 days to save the human race and themselves.

Hi, Maria.

Would you be interested in reviewing my new book? It’s set in Australia and is a prequel to my debut novel GOLD! — The Kincaid Saga, Book One.

Both books, although obviously linked, are written as standalone stories.
(Feargus is on preorder at the moment and due for release on April 11. I’d still love a review even if you can’t manage it by then; better late than never, as they say.)

Here’s a brief blurb:
Feargus Kincaid is a down-to-earth working-class Aussie bloke. He wouldn’t hurt a fly—or would he?
When his girlfriend is attacked by three thugs, he and his best mate mete out their own form of rough justice, setting in train a series of events that will propel them into the shady world of gangsters, protection racketeers, and The Mafia. In the 1940s and 50s, life in Australia was simple. Feargus is about to see how complicated it can get.

After a confrontation that leaves him with severe injuries, and despite his best intentions, Feargus finds himself drawn into a life of crime and drug addiction from which escape seems impossible. With the help of his friend and partner in crime, Paddy, he struggles to attain redemption for himself and a secure future for his sons.

Sometimes, however, Fate has other ideas.

It's not a sweet romance, nor is it a happy family tale. Feargus is basically a good guy who makes some bad choices and finds it hard mending his ways.
As usual, all characters in this story are fictional, but many are composites of everyday Aussies I’ve come across over several decades of living in this great and wonderous land we call Oz.

I can send it as a PDF or an EBOOK. Please email me and let me know your preferences.
Thanks in anticipation.
