Yeah, I am waiting on a library copy too. But if I run out of solo-reads, I might just buy a kindle copy. Apparently, it must be read every November. (Somebody said🤭.)

I won't be buyng a copy, because I just bought a bunch of Kindle books a little while ago lol.

I hear you! I haven't bought many lately, so I am tempted since it's going to be a regular reread. I wish it was on KU.

I broke down and bought it, so I started last night. Plus, the audiobook came available on Libby, and the narrators are great!
My sister brought this book home from the library yesterday. So excited! I'll be starting it after I finish the book I'm currently reading.

To elaborate, I think I will end up loving it, but as of now it's been a bit hard to get into.

I am enjoying this as a reread more than I did on my first read. Despite forgetting some *major* points!😅
Warning—it is more crude in places than I remembered. Nothing terrible, but definitely a little out of bounds.😬

I started The Scorpio Races with the expectation that the setting would be a fantastical time period equivalent to our Middle Ages — but instead I'm quite surprised to learn (as I read the first 10 pages) that it's actually a contemporary fantasy. But, hey, I'm not complaining! 😄
Certainly some intriguing elements so far.

Shekinah, do you mean the crude comments and such? There was more of that than I remembered from my first read.😬

Bella, I found it pretty slow on my first read. I got fully invested around the 50% point, though! On my second read, I enjoyed the beginning much more because I understood the story's structure. Keep going!!🤩

I had a lot more time to read yesterday than I normally do, so I was able to read over 100 pages of The Scorpio Races last evening.
So far I'm not that impressed. The plot is pretty much bland; the writing feels somewhat choppy; and the crudeness is... well, let's just say it's cringy.
I would probably dnf it. But there are three things that are keeping me reading: (1) I know it's gets significantly better at some point (from seeing y'all's progress updates and reviews); (2) I'm reading it with this group; and (3) I'm slightly intrigued about the capaill uisce and what's gonna happen at the races.
There's my thoughts.
Hopefully tonight I can get to that place in the book where the plot really takes off. I hope so. 😌

Yes.
Thanks for keeping me motivated with this book because I'm SO into it now!
The approximately 55% point does wonders to the plot.
My only complaint is... why do I have to stop reading and go do the dishes now??!! 🤪

I just finished The Scorpio Races ! The last 45% of it are definitely my fave part. Now I need a little time to digest the story before writing my review.
Hopefully I'll have my review out by Saturday — or maybe Monday.

Jazzie, you probably already saw, but just in case not—there are a lot of us who couldn’t get into it until around the 50% point. But at that point, we were hooked!😍
Are you excited about this one??
Are you enjoying the story? Finding it well-paced or slow?
What do you think of the characters?
Are you confused about anything?
Enjoy guys! 😊
