Barb | 4 comments Hi there. Yesterday I came across a book in my mom’s estate that was given to her on her 18th birthday, and I want to add it to my Goodreads. The book is listed (The Laughing Heart by Jeanne Bowman), but aside from the publisher and page count (which are both accurate), no other information is shown. I’d like to add the copyright date (1950) and the book cover. I’ve taken a picture of the cover that I’d like to share, but I don’t see how to share it here.
Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Barb | 4 comments I’ve looked online and haven’t found a picture of this cover anywhere, including Amazon. However, I think I figured out how to link the photo I took. Hopefully this works. Thanks!

We don't add copyright dates, do you know the publication date for the edition you own?

Barb | 4 comments Thank you so much for adding the cover!
As for the date, the only date listed is 1950, and there is nothing that indicates a publishing date although I’m assuming it’s also 1950 and I’m also assuming this is a first edition (I don’t know if there were ever any other editions.) The inscription indicates it was given to my Mom on her 18th birthday in 1953.

Inside the book, all that’s there on the fist page is a brief teaser of the book, then on the next page the title, then the next page the title, author, and publisher, and on the back of that page all it says is
Copyright 1950 by Arcadia House
Printed in the United States of America
Then another page with just the title, and finally the book begins.

I don’t know of that helps. I don’t understand if you’re not able to add a date given it doesn’t list a publishing date.
I appreciate your help!

Barb | 4 comments Thank you so much! I went back and read what I’d written, and I meant to say that I understand if you’re not able to add the date. I don’t know where that “don’t” came from - my mistake! I do appreciate your help.
