Hey guys, for some reason I didn't get the notifications.I will start today :)
So, I'm about 25% in. Not a huge fan of the writing, I have cringed a few times lol. I find Lyra a bit meh, Hades is more interesting. I mean the story is entertaining enough but I feel like it has been done so many times. I will keep going. What do you guys think so far?
Same. I don’t like Lyra she’s Whitney but I’m hoping it gets better I’m a little over 100 pages in
Still not getting the bloody notifications for our thread...nevermind lolI'm at chapter 30 now, not sure on page count as it's a higher page count with a library ebook.
Also, a bit confused about the world. It sounds like our world with Gods in it. They have phones and TVs but then there was one point they said cameras are a new thing.
I'm about 20% in, and I agree! she is pretty whiny haha. I do like Hades' character! the writing does feel very YA and I agree, Corina, I think that's exactly what the world's supposed to be like. our world but with Gods haha
Whiny is a good word, it fits her lol...I agree with you, Bella with the writing as well. Yeah, our world but with some missing things plus the Gods hahaha.

I finished just now. To be honest, I pushed to finish it. Unfortunately, I wasn't invested, it felt too long, wasn't entertained by the labours and Lyra was just meh for me. The writing felt pretty average, there were a few cringe moments. I liked Hades well enough I guess. It wasn't bad bad per say, but it wasn't great either. Just because I was struggling to finish it, it was below average for me.
I'm pushing through! it's tough though, I'm not enjoying this one as much as I'd hoped :/ it's still entertaining enough, but it does feel too long
It felt so long. I will be honest I skimmed some parts. The trials were supposed to be entertaining but I was just over them lol.
Btw, if you are looking for fantasy romance books, I personally would recommend Carissa Broadbent. I'm currently reading the second book in the Crowns of Nyaxia series and also enjoyed The Daughter of No Worlds series too.
I'm getting through it, I'm 60% through so maybe I'll finish this week :)
It's no rush...I just wanted to finish it lol.
hey guys! i forgot to update that I finished the book! it was okay, I felt like the ending was rushed though
like they tied everything together super quickly and now she's the queen of the underworld and gets to live with Hades forever, happily ever after lol
it felt too quick considering how long the rest of the book was

SPOILER COURTNEY! yes she did, but I chose to ignore that part and pretend the book ended with her becoming queen so I wouldn't be curious about the next book haha :')

Hey guys I’ve been locked out of Goodreads account. Idek how I got back in so I might be making a new one :( anyways I didn’t finish this one it was hard to read.
haha yeah, it's making me mad too! i keep on thinking "omg just leave her alone, she's obviously not a witch and obviously didn't make a pact with the devil" but then I remember that she kind of is a witch by their standards and kind of did make a pact with the devil, although it was more of a friendship haha
hey Courtney! yeah Goodreads has been pretty hit or miss with the notifications and even just being usable lately! i downloaded Fable and it's been very cool! you can sync your Goodreads with it too :)
Hey Courtney, was wondering if that was the case. To be honest, I struggled to finish this one. To be fair, I was also considering either storygraph or fable which I know can both sync with goodreads. Goodreads is so hit and miss with notifications it's annoying. Maybe we can all switch lol. To be honest, I mostly keep goodreads to read with you guys. Did you guys check out this years choice awards? I know it's mostly a popularity contest, but it's still interesting to have a look.

I really loved John Gwyne's The Faithful and the Fallen series, so definitely want to read this series too.
