We do not change covers on existing books/editions. If the cover edition you want is not yet on Goodreads you can submit a request at 'adding new books & editions'.
The title is correct for the existing cover edition.

I understand, but I'm not referring to an alternative cover edition in this case. The original uploader/creator assigned the wrong cover for this edition (ASIN: B002RI9BAI) - they uploaded the cover for an entirely different edition in a different format (see that edition here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Marquise-Hes...).

The current cover and full title were never correct for this Kindle edition.

You will need to provide proof of that from an acceptable source. As it was published 20 years ago I suspect this will be very difficult and you will probably have to settle for an alternative cover edition.
Note that 27 users have already rated that specific edition with cover and title as shown.

I see, thank you for the info. I'm not sure if the below are considered acceptable sources, but:

The British Library catalogue contains an entry for the edition from which the incorrect cover and shorter title were taken – I can't directly link to the catalogue entry, but you can access the following URL, click "See all versions", then click on the result (the second one in the list for me) with the same cover image as the current Goodreads page (ISBN: 1843910543): https://bll01.primo.exlibrisgroup.com.... As this shows, it was a physical book published by Hesperus in 2003 (translator: Richard Stokes).

As for the correct image/data for the edition with the ASIN B002RI9BAI, as it's a Kindle edition, I suppose Amazon is the only source: https://www.amazon.com/Marquise-Other.... As this shows, it was a Kindle book published by Penguin in 2004 (translators: David Luke, Nigel Reeves).

Knowing that the cover was used on a particular physical edition does not confirm that it wasn't used on Kindle edition.
It might be better to ask support to make the change, they can do things without the fear that their librarian status will be revoked.
