* Description: This book is an English translation of the original book "An Anthology of the Experiences of Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Victims - Second collection" originally published in Japanese in 2010. This English translation is intended to spread further the important message of peace from Hiroshima to the world. These days the threats of war are evident in many parts of the world. The testimonies echoed in these pages should therefore remind everyone of the horrors of nuclear weapons and tragedy of war. The Hiroshima message to the world remains relevant to this day as we mark 70th anniversary of that infamous event.
Many people assisted with the translation of this book. In particular, college students and graduate students of Hiroshima Shudo University (Yuya Ohira, Mika Kobata, Hina Saito, Yukino Hashimoto, Nozomi Hirozawa, Yukie Miura), Hiroshima University (Shiori Arima, Momoka Ikeda, Akira Mito, Tomohiro Mochida), Yasuda Women's University (Miki Kobayashi, Miho Shinoda), Japanese Red Cross Hiroshima College of Nursing (Sanae Fukuda), Erika Sekido, Maria Kutami, and Ken Miyahara helped with translations. Dr. Joseph Hankins, Dr. Lawrence M. Liao and Prof. Jim Ronald also helped with editing the English. Without each people's assistance, the publication of this English translation would have been impossible. We deeply appreciate these people's valuable contribution.
We hope that this book will help people from all over the world in hearing the true voice of the Hiroshima A-bomb survivors and war victims with the aim of the abolition of nuclear weapons, and the realization of a peaceful world for all.
