Drace (dracenines) | 7569 comments The author Paul La Farge is alphabetized incorrectly in the Goodreads database. When I sort my shelves alphabetically, he shows up in the F section rather than the L section. This needs to be corrected. Since it's not a claimed author page, the librarians are able to handle it.

Sandra | 31526 comments Working on this.

There was an author profile, but without all the info & picture for the correct name, which I've merged. However, caching won't let me change it just yet.

I'll try a bit later to change it.

Drace (dracenines) | 7569 comments His name is spelled incorrectly throughout the author page. It should be La Farge, not LaFarge.

Also, there's still an author page for the incorrectly alphabetized La Farge: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

Fixed. I noticed there's an author Paul Lafargue whose works are sometimes spelled as LaFarge, and some books have been merged with Paul La Farge. I'm working on disambiguation. Some of Paul La Farge's works are also spelled as Lafarge, which may be causing confusion. Should Paul La Farge have an alternative profile for that name? I'm not sure, as the only difference is the space. Lafargue should definitely have an alternative profile for its spelling.

Edit: I created the profile for the variation of Paul Lafargue, I'll be adding the editions there accordingly, if anyone wants to help out feel free https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

Edit 2: I think I got them all for the disambiguation part. So that should be done.

Sandra | 31526 comments It was spelled as LaFarge on Worldcat, so I went with that.

I checked the book covers, as Goodreads prioritizes them over other sources, and they all show 'La Farge' except for these three:

1- https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
2- https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
3- https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9...

The author also had the space on his official website though the site is now taken down but it's archived on the Wayback Machine: https://web.archive.org/web/202211151...

I'm not familiar with the policy regarding variations where the last name differs by a space. Do you know if we should create a separate profile for the variation 'LaFarge' for these two books? or we should disregard the space for the author profile?

Drace (dracenines) | 7569 comments Thread seems to be done for now, so I'm going to move it to the Archived folder. Might be a good idea to make a thread in questions about the author name spacing issue. Thanks for the help, everyone.
