how do you divide the books on your bookshelf??

I have all my hardcovers together. All my paperbacks are together. My sprayed edge hardcovers are together. I used to do alphabetical order with the authors last name. It ended up being a pain in the butt cause of all the shifting I had to do each time I added a new book.

I can't really say my bookshelf's organised 😂 I just put them back wherever I find enough space once I'm done reading.

But once a month when I'm affected by the cleaning virus I move them around and they're usually arranged by height or color (books from a series are together always)

I'm in the process of moving houses, so all my books are in boxes now and will probably change my system. but until a few weeks ago, my books were organised by language first. within each section, they're divided by status (read/not read). i do tend to stick together all the books of the same editorial series
