Malin read Mikhail Bulgakov’s long-suppressed satire of Stalin’s Moscow, The Master and Margarita, because so many friends gave it 5 stars. The critique of oppressive bureaucrats was kind of a slog, but she became more interested when Margarita was introduced, “[t]his section seemed more like a dark fairytale for the most part…I was mostly enjoying what I read.”
