Fall 2024 Read-a-Thon: Team Knights
Hey, the Knights is perfect, that was the actual team name for my college! - https://www.carleton.edu in Minnesota
Note: For this round, as you complete subjects, you will need to add the number of pencils you're using to each subject tab. Typically putting an x is ok, but because some subjects require more pencils, I changed the formula so it will correctly count your available pencils on the pencil tab. Head to the intro thread if you have questions.
FYI - I will be traveling the next 3 days so I'll have limited time for reading. I should be able to do more later in the week.
Well, I've already finished my first book - You Are Not What We Expected and I used it for the geometric shape on cover prompt. I picked a light red to show that that prompt had been completed once.

I finished A Palm for Mrs. Pollifax and put it for a book involving a person in a STEM field, since the setting is a health clinic in Switzerland.
I finished Arsenal Stadium Mystery by Leonard R. Gribble for a book published at least 50 years ago (1939).
I finished Listen for the Lie, and placed it under a book featuring a student, teacher, writer, or librarian. The main character is a romance writer.
I finished the graphic novel Anna (220p) for a book that has been translated into English. Also finished St. Francis of Assisi by G.K. Chesterton for memoir, biography or autobiography.
Erica wrote: "Ooh Listen for the lie is on my tbr. Did you enjoy it?"It was excellent! I highly recommend listening to it as an audiobook.
I did finish an audiobook, Hell and Back. I don’t seem to be able to add it with my tablet so could someone put it under Book with a weather event- a blizzard is central to the story.

I have just finished the audiobook of The Ruin by Dervla McTiernan, but not sure where it should go.
I finished Underground to Canada and I used it for the historical fiction prompt. The discussion about books we read for school made me want to revisit this one.
Sheyanne wrote: "I have just finished the audiobook of The Ruin by Dervla McTiernan, but not sure where it should go."The link I followed showed a cover with plants on the cover, so you could use it for that.

Okay, I checked off that one. Thank you!
Thanks Erica! 😊Hi everyone, late to join but I’m excited to play along! I finished a couple of books during the time since this started before I joined up, so I’ll take a look at the spreadsheet and work out where they fit.
I didn't finish anything today (visitors) but added my pages and hours to the pencil. Hopefully will finish a book tomorrow. Looks like we're doing well! Happy reading.
Kathy, I just saw on the spreadsheet that you read The Arsenal Stadium Mystery! I'm so curious why/how you came across it, and also what you thought of it? (Wondering mainly if you're an Arsenal fan like me - the only reason I knew about it to read it myself, a couple of years ago 😅)

One of our threads this year is British Library Crime Classics. Our choice for September is Arsenal Stadium Mystery, which I like a lot. I liked how the author included real members of the Arsenal team in the story. So, no I'm not an Arsenal fan but it has made me more interested in the team.

I finished Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 3/4 for a book with all three primary colors on the cover.
So I finished two books. Booked for young adult and Assassin's Creed Dynasty, Volume 1 for contains illustrations. If you finish a book and it fits no open prompts start round two and you get to pick the next colour.
I finished Class Mom and put it under Humorous Book, which we still needed. It looks like we need Southern Hemisphere, such as Australia or South America.
I just finished Meddling Kids, which is a retelling of the Scooby-Doo series. Does that count, or does it have to be a retelling of literature? Otherwise, it'll work for the animal on the cover prompt.
I just finished The Fountain Overflows for a book featuring a protagonist who has a career in the arts. So we've finished The Arts category. I added the one pencil we needed.I've started Cantoras, which is set in Uruguay - southern hemisphere.
Sheyanne wrote: "I just finished Meddling Kids, which is a retelling of the Scooby-Doo series. Does that count, or does it have to be a retelling of literature? Otherwise, it'll work for the animal ..."I'd say it counts for the retelling.
I finished All the Horses of Iceland and I used it for the animal on cover, so now only need a 500+ page book and a book set in the Southern Hemisphere (and a few more pencils) and then we'll have completed one full round. Go team!
