I have read both these with this group, so it will give me time to catch up with my other books. So good news all round!
Yes, Sayers has been a group challenge. I've never clicked with Tey to be honest, but I know she is very popular. I liked the one she wrote set in a school, but that was about it.

Oh, and after the last time, I finally read my used copy of The Franchise Affair, and really enjoyed it.
I wanted to fill in the background, read the other Grant books to know more about the characters. Plus, I had picked up several used paperbacks over the years, and they’ve been glaring at me reproachfully from my bookshelf for many years!
Oh, I really didn't like The Daughter of Time. I know I am in the minority but you can't tell someone's character from a portrait of them, when portraits of kings were made to present them at their best. Hans Holbein anyone? I couldn't suspend disbelief for that one, sorry.

Yes, I’m one of the “read a series from the beginning” folk!
Plus, I hadn’t read a lot of War of the Roses history, didn’t know much about Richard. I did read up on him, which helped, and discovered the incredible narration by Derek Jacobi, which gave so much depth to the characters, and conveyed the humor. I also determined to read the earlier books in the Grant series! So far, I’ve read the first…so this will jumpstart another personal reading goal.
Currently reading (and for some time) Miss Pym Disposes and (possibly) The Daughter of Time. I read Daughter originally in college for my English History class.
