Ribcage
description
Ribcage is a supernatural killer clown. He targets his victims by sending them a balloon marked with the dates of their impending death dates & times. He appears emaciated and skeletal with a gaunt face and hollow eyes.
He haunts his victims day & night including in their dreams. He can project his voice. He can appear and disappear at will which adds a psychological layer to his terror.

Complete the following tasks
Arm1: Read a chain of 3 books with a balloon on the cover
Arm 2: Read a chain of 3 books tagged Psychological
Leg 1: Read a chain of 3 books with all the letters of SKELETAL in the title/series
Leg 2: Read a chain of 3 books with the author's initials in DREAMS

Kirsten | 1235 comments Talk to Me from the Sloan Brothers series has a cell phone on the cover for TW; it’s super short but we could do a buddy read, Lisa, for SKELETAL

MN Lisa (lisa713mn) | 1779 comments Mod
I'll do that. Should we do #2 for Author in DREAMS?

Although that one is 328 Pages....

message 160: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten | 1235 comments I'm up for it if you are--I don't feel like deciding anything, and I bet those will go super fast. I scanned them both for SH, and they seem like easy reads.

MN Lisa (lisa713mn) | 1779 comments Mod
I say let's do both. I got the first Buddy Read thread already. OK to start on Sunday with Book 1?

Have any ideas for Balloon on Cover?

message 162: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten | 1235 comments Yes, Sunday works for me, and I’m reading a litfic for balloon, Up With the SunI recently read and loved The Uncanny Aviator.

I started posting, but then got distracted by a Kindle Sale...Just bought 23 books for $12.

There are bunch in the series with The Dating Disaster that are free right now.

I have a question... What task were Lisa & Kirsten reading for? Ribcage leg 1 says: Read a chain of 3 books with all the letters of SKELETAL in the title/series. I don't see anything about a cell phone on the cover.

message 168: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten | 1235 comments TALK mE SLoan brothErs

Talk to Me from the Sloan Brothers series has all the letters of SKELETAL. Lisa and I are also playing Turf Wars, and that round coincided with this one; a task there was reading books with cell phones on the cover. We double dipped.

message 169: by Donna, Curator of Challenge Terrors (new)

Donna (dkflynn33) | 7439 comments Mod
Ok, that explains it. You should have put that in your justification instead of cell phone on cover. I didn't think to look at the series. The whole cell phone thing threw me off.

MN Lisa (lisa713mn) | 1779 comments Mod
I updated the spreadsheet with Kirsten's comment and removed the Cell Phone Reference.

Skeletons in the Closet
**does this have an affair? Kirsten it looks like you read it....

message 176: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten | 1235 comments @MN Lisa: Yes, it does. They are investigating an adulterous husband.

@Jackie: Do you have any interest in Missing White Woman as a buddy read? I think I'm going to use that one for disappearing.

message 177: by Jackie (new)

Jackie | 1488 comments Kirsten, I'm game to buddy read Missing White Woman. My library has it.

message 178: by Jackie (new)

Jackie | 1488 comments Also, I'm planning to read Home Before Dark for daughter in book. I think it should work since the MC has inherited a supposedly haunted house from her father. Kirsten, would you be interested in doing a buddy read for it?

message 179: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten | 1235 comments That is on my tbr, so I would normally say yes, but the book I'm reading right now has a daughter in it so I think I will stick with that (it doesn't fit anything else). But I am glad to do Missing White Woman with you.

Jackie | 1488 comments Thanks, Kirsten. When do you want to start?

message 183: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten | 1235 comments Not til TW is over, and I’ve finished the 2 books holding us up on Wheel.

So 1.5 TW books (will finish tomorrow) and 2 days for those long wheel books. But thanksgiving. And grading. Thursday or Friday?

message 184: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten | 1235 comments Is that okay? I’m also tempted to read the Decker book with you, bc no adoption is popping into my head and Lisa’s book is motorcycle club, which I don’t like. Same schedule, if you can wait on those.

message 185: by Jackie (new)

Jackie | 1488 comments Friday sounds good. It’s going to be a busy week with Thanksgiving and all. Let me know if you want to buddy read the Decker one.

Joker
description
The Joker is a supervillain clown with green hair, white skin, and red lips. He has no superhuman abilities. Complete the following tasks
Arm 1: Read a chain of 3 books with Red, White & Green covers (no other colors allowed - except for text)
Arm 2: Read a chain of 3 books with weapons on the cover
Leg 1: Read a chain of 3 books with the word POISON in the text
