Once upon a time, I think I thoroughly enjoyed this type of book and while the appeal of the mythical legendary Templars still somewhat prevail in me to read this, I wasn't particularly keen where this one took me. The hunt for this great lost secret of the Templars is Indiana-Jones-esque and rather fun especially near the end however the book lost me when it goes through the Christianity conspiracy. I felt that I've read that already...

Interesting set of characters though I don't think we'll see most of them again. There is one the series is named for, Cotton Malone, who was okay, I think; maybe he'll get better later on in the series.
