I love this series but haven't gotten to the last couple. Titus Welliver is such a great narrator. I'll definitely push this up my TBR.
I enjoyed the audio too - Love love love Titus Welliver as Bosch, both in the audio books and the TV show. There's also a new-ish Lincoln Lawyer series on Netflix which I think is really well done.

I've enjoyed the Netflix series. The movie was good too with Matthew McConaughey as the Lincoln Lawyer. Both male leads have done well portraying Haller

Bosch and Haller are half-brothers who only discovered this a few years previously. Its a tenuous relationship with Bosch on the police detective side finding and charging criminals and Haller's work at defending them. Bosch is retired and no longer working on cold cases plus he's battling cancer. Between treatments on a medical trial, he drives Haller. Haller has him looking at old convictions to see if he can find another pro-bono case where he can get someone out of prison who has been wrongfully convicted. Haller calls it the Resurrection Walk when he can get someone to walk out of prison. He found he gets a wonderful high on that. Since he did that for one client, others are writing to him to take their case. Not all are deserving. Bosch looks them over and finds one that strikes him as a possible wrongful conviction.
Haller interviews the woman accused of killing her husband. She's been in prison for 5 years and is desperate to get out because he son is getting into his teens and gangs are looking to recruit him. The boy lives with his grandmother and she's doing her best.
It's a hard case to prove and Haller gets blocked several times. Bosch is anxious that he should not be too involved. He's uncomfortable being on the opposite side of the fence. Connelly writes it so that it is believable. Bosch gets a good dose of how the defense side works.
I'll read Connelly whenever I get a chance. This was new for me because I unknowingly read this series book out of order. I never do that but I couldn't go back when I realized what had happened. It works OK but I need to pick up the other two!
