Let’s get you reading consistently! Because it helps me read consistently too hehe we need to lift one another up here.
I haven’t read many self help books, but sci fi yessss
If you haven’t read Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. It’s so much more than a story about creating a monster; it dives deep into what is real or not, nature, humanity, mental illness, etc. The descriptions are beyond amazing too! Be warned though, it’s BLOODY lol very gothic but very sci fi too.
I enjoyed Leviathan Wakes, the books that The Expanse tv series is based on. I have a pile of sci fi books on my TBR list I haven’t read yet but I’ve heard good things.

I’ve heard great things about Red Rising though, I think that’s supposed to be in a dystopian setting. I hope someone here has read it and can let us know if it’s good!

I'm currently reading a slasher book (with an overall mystery) where a mass murder happened on a summer camp and we follow the POV of someone who has no recollection of anything that happened that night other than bits and pieces, so she's paranoid about everything and everyone - including her girlfriend, which is the only other survivor and apparently the one that saved the protagonist. There are some discriptions of gore scenes but they're not very detailed, more like the protagonist inserting commentary from her memory and the trauma of it. I'm liking it so far! It's called The Last Girls Standing by Jennifer Dugan
On the sci-fi front there's a novella I didn't read it yet but it's on my TBR list called That's How You Loose The Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone! I've seen people saying great things about it but they also say the writing can be a little confusing at times? The communication is made through letters and I find it very curious tho, might be worth taking a look if you're interested c:

i will say i'm particularly into self-help and practical books at the mo, though i have been having a hankering for sci-fi (dystopia especially) and mystery/thriller stuff
thanks in advance ❤️❤️❤️
