becs | 178 comments For me, it depends on the day because some days reading just feels like it takes more energy when I'm already tired...But also watching TV and being online overstimulates me so much quicker than reading so I find myself opting for it more often because it just makes my mind go even faster

becs | 178 comments meaning being online makes my mind unsettled while reading centers it

Christine | 93 comments @becs exactly. I tend to spend the weekends reading because I am more relaxed and have more time, whereas after work, i only have a couple of hours, so scrolling or tv just seems easier.

Mike | 107 comments Neither. I have not owned a TV in 3 years and am not in a rush to get one. I read books.

Christine Mathieu | 948 comments I need both, literature and movies and classic TV series from the 1950's and 1960's.
I read a lot, I also watch hundreds of DVD's every year (right now all 514 episodes from "Peyton Place").
I hardly ever watch TV.

Christine Mathieu | 948 comments On our long trips I don't watch TV, I only read books (and always tend to pack too few books like on our France trip in May where 5 books were not enough and there was only one bookstore in Marseille which sold English novels).

Natasha | 136 comments Much prefer reading. more likely to watch Netflix/Disney+ with my partner in the evenings or if I need to switch off. Reading is more stimulating.

message 8: by Lady (new)

Lady Dazy (mrscsmith) I prefer to read, but I also watch TV when there is something good to watch.

Christine Mathieu | 948 comments We added TCM in April 2007 to our cable package. But meanwhile they add no more "new" old movies and I keep watching DVD's with film noir instead.

Neil (nabq) | 31 comments When away I only read.

It is nice to get away from the TV.

At home it's a mixture.

message 11: by Jeanine (new)

Jeanine | 80 comments I primarily read . I am also learning Spanish on Duolingo. I turned on the TV only 1 day this summer. When my husband watches TV, I read.

message 12: by Diana (new)

Diana Jaques | 134 comments Reading all the way.
I have the attention span to read a book for hours, but five minutes of television bores me.

Rissa (rissasreading) (rissasreading) | 177 comments it definitely depends on the day / week I've had for what I prefer

message 14: by Susan (new)

Susan Vrabel-Williams | 26 comments I generally prefer books. But during football season..well, I have to watch my favorite team!

message 15: by Christine (new)

Christine Mathieu | 948 comments I'm the opposite: not interested in TV sport at all. I can focus on a book while my husband watches the Red Sox or the Patriots. :)
