Hey guys! So there’s this book I’ve been looking for. I read it when I was young, borrowed it from the library. I can’t remember what it’s called. I’ve done EVERYTHING I can to find it. Gone back in all our records of borrowed books, asked many librarians, researched every little thing I can remember about it for hours. And I can’t find it. So, I’m giving a last effort and describing it on some of the groups I’m on in hopes that someone MIGHT recognize it and know what it’s called. This is all I can remember about it:The main character moved to this place, or another character moved to the place the main character lived in. They became good friends. I don’t remember if they were boys or girls, but I think MAYBE the main character was a boy and his friend a girl. The girl had a grandfather or father who took care of her. This grandfather or father had cancer. I don’t remember the actual plot of the book, but I do remember at the end the maybe-girl ended up catching the cancer from the grandfather or father (yeah I know you can’t catch cancer but she did idk) and the book ended around there. I think both father and girl died from cancer? Maybe not, I don’t remember. The title MIGHT have had the name of a month in it? Like September? But I’m not sure about that. I do remember the cover being light colors, like white and green. There might have been some grass on it? I’m so sorry I can’t remember more but if ANYTHING sounds familiar please let me know
@Eva so im searching for this book for you, are you sure that its her father /grandfather and not the mother? Plus how old were you when you read this book? (tryna find the age rating of this book so i can see what genre)
I’m pretty sure it was her father/grandfather, but if you’ve found something with a mother instead I of course could be wrong and it may have been the mother. I think I was about 8-9 when I read it, and I got it from the children’s section at the library
so basically i found a bunch of books on google, and since obviously i cant send screenshots, you can search a girl with cancer and a father/grandfather with cancer story and you might find some results? I hope it helps! sorry if i couldnt find the book :c

I did a quick search, and nothing seems to be what I’m looking for. I think the reason I can’t find it is that the main plot of the book wasn’t the cancer. It’s just the only part I remember because I read it when my sister had cancer so it really stuck with me. It was one of my favorite books, and I think one of the first books to make me cry. And I had just wanted to find it again so I could read it and remember why it was so important. But the problem is I can’t remember the main plot, and as long as I can’t remember I’ll never be able to find it🥲
Which is maybe for the best. Some books are better in memory. Maybe it’s best for me to just keep the memories of it then ruin them with reading the book again and ruining those memories by what the book really might be. That’s happened many times before for me. I have great memories of a book then go back and read it and it’s super cringy and I can’t stand it, or it has certain messages I don’t agree with that I didn’t realize before, or stuff (not good stuff) happens that I didn’t realize I was reading at that age. So maybe I can’t find the book for a reason.
True, some books are better in memory- i had several books i read years back that when i try to reread it i find it not as cool as i thought. Mini me had a different taste in books XD
