Londa (londalocs) | 1526 comments I have only read 7 of the listed authors. I have most of them on my to-read list.

Mat Johnson -- Reading my first book by him now. Loving Day: A Novel is wonderful so far!
Edwidge Danticat -- Have read many of her books
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Marlon James -- Loved The Book of Night Women and A Brief History of Seven Killings is on my to-read
Colson Whitehead His Sag Harborwas a DNF for me.
Ayana Mathis --- The Twelve Tribes of Hattie was good, but she has only written one book.
Toni Morrison -- The Queen. Can't wait to read God Help the Child

Hard to pick faves from this bunch but Toni, Marlon, and Edwidge have all written books on my fave list.

I would definitely add Bernice L. McFadden to this list.

I will probably read Helen Oyeyemi next because she writes weird stories and I like WEIRD. :0)

Anastasia Kinderman | 942 comments I've only read Toni Morrison, several of them are on my TBR list though!

I'm excited to read God Help the Child. I should hopefully be getting it from my library as soon as it comes out.

I've read 7 authors on the list.
I really enjoy Toni Morrison and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. I also enjoyed Pym by Mat Johnson.
I think Terry McMillian should have been on the list.
I've a few of these on my TBR list, hopefully I'll get to Marlon James and Natalie Baszile next.

Londa (londalocs) | 1526 comments Beverly.. I figured you would have read most of them :0) Your 'add ons' are really good. I am especially surprised that Junot Díaz and James McBride were not on this list. They are very popular right now.

Lulu...you must read Marlon James! MUST!
