Since, fortunately for me, I have never been in Jeannie's situation, it is difficult to say. From where I stand now, I think I might be grateful to have it over and done,
Since most defense attorney's like to place the blame on the victim, I believe Jeannie is better off. She doesn't have to worry about running into Sanborn ever again. It is cathartic for some to face their rapist though.
What a coward!I also think Jeannie is better off. She gets the closure knowing the man who attacked her is dead and will not need to relive the trauma by testifying and being cross-examined.
She can tell her story and get the truth out there without the psychological backlash.
I believe the suggestion that she give an interview is a great way to deal with getting her story out. That way she can tell her story without being harassed by the defense attorney in cross examination.
Agree with everyone. I think Jeannie is better off in the long run not having to testify or face cross examination from the defense attorney.
