Sarah | 1535 comments Hi!

I have a few questions that might be stupid but I want to double check a few things:

I'm helping an author "clean" her backlog here on Goodreads because it's a bit of a mess with the Amazon bots doing it's thing etc and I think I know what to do but figured I'd double check a few things.

1. She was part of a few anthologies with other authors that are no longer available to purchase but would like them to be marked as Invalid. But since they were available in the past - people should still be able to rate/review/add them to their shelves here since people could still own any edition of them if they bought them - correct? And secondhand print copies might still be available to buy. So they should still be Public - correct?

2. Same question as above but about books (not anthologies) that were available to be purchased in the past but no longer available anywhere. Should still be Public - correct?

3. Shorts/bonuses that were either only up for free on her website, part of her Patreon or only available via her newsletter - can they be marked as Invalid if they are no longer available anywhere? They are currently only available to buy as a collection of the shorts/bonuses. The collection is up here on Goodreads as a separate book.
I marked these as Invalid but will obviously reverse that and make them Public if I made a mistake in my thinking.

Thank you! Any help here is appreciated.

Martin | 35299 comments 1. They should stay as public, we do not remove out of print books.
2. Same as 1.
3. I'm not so sure about these. If they required subscription or sign-up they should not have been on Goodreads anyway. If they were available to anyone as ebook from author site I would think they are valid and should remain.

I hope someone who is more confident/competent can comment on #3

Dobby (dobby0390) | 7858 comments Martin is correct. Subscription/sign-up editions are not valid per Goodreads policy and should not have been added.
