For this week I chose House of Secrets written by Chris Columbus. I actually read it last week (a first so far in the challenge!). I wasn't crazy about the writing style (obviously for younger readers, unlike HP, and it's trying really hard to already be a screenplay), but the story sucked me in and I must admit I put the second book in my hold list on my library app. The closest thing I can compare it with is Fablehaven, another fantasy series for younger readers. It reminded me how well executed books those are in comparison (seriously, it is a way underrated, charming series). The secret of House of Secrets is that it's probably most enjoyable to younger readers.
