I really struggled with the writing style and found myself having to reread sections as I found it hard to absorb. The story I thought was pretty unique and interesting just unfortunatly the writing style was not for me.

I'm in the camp that felt the writing was poor. I found myself actively parsing sentences in order to understand their point, and the "flow" of the narrative ran off the rails whenever it would hit some awkward sentence construction. Very distracting. This problem compounds with the slow pacing in the beginning. It wasn't all bad. Lewis's outcome was very entertaining! However, there are lots of other great books out there, and I'm not sure I'll be reading more by this author.

I hope you enjoy it!"
Thanks Dustin!
Well, I did enjoy it, but didn't love it. It felt like some parts just dragged, and there was an awful lot of animal cruelty. I'm going to do my review now. There is one thing confused me that maybe someone can help me with? It's a major spoiler point, however.
(view spoiler)[ When Peta and Shaney died, the baby elk was in Peta's body. When the Elk Head woman showed up at the end, she was Shaney. Anyone know a reason for that? Did I miss something? Was like the baby elk really Peta's baby or something? And as stated earlier, how was the Elk Head Woman so good at basketball lol (hide spoiler)]
