Shraddha Bhatia (shraddhabhatia) | 23 comments I don't remember much about this book...but I remember that it's in first person narrative. the main character is a guy whose father is a very successful lawyer. the main character did go to law school but dropped out or was thrown out or didn't pass. so he isn't a qualified lawyer. that's why he helps out in his dad's practice as a private investigator. pretty sure it is a series of books. the one scene I remember vaguely is that the first line itself the main character is talking about how he got slapped by a woman twice and how he probably deserved it.

Archibald "Archy" McNally was a fictional character created by bestselling novelist Lawrence Sanders. He is the protagonist of thirteen novels, seven by Sanders and six by Vincent Lardo, who took over the series following Sanders' death in 1998.

Sue's suggestion of the Archy McNally series sounds pretty good. One Goodreads reviewer says, "[Archy] didn't make it through law school to make his stuffy old law firm dad happy, but he manages to solve some tricky problems that Dad's clients seem to get themselves into regularly."

Great! Glad you found your book. :)

I've moved your request to the "Adult Fiction-SOLVED" folder by clicking the EDIT link at the top, beside your topic title. (By the way, this link is visible on the desktop site, but not the mobile site.)
