Berrin Nur | 162 comments I keep hearing people listen to audiobooks but where can I listen to them? Is there a specific app or something?

Christine | 93 comments I have audible for now, was listening to some free ones on there, but there is a subscription cost for that. But mostly Libby or Hoopla they are both through the library and you just use your library card.

Christine Mathieu | 948 comments You can request them at your public library.

Aymee (asphaltcowgrrl) | 8 comments Chirp is also a great source for inexpensive audiobooks. Although, the library will be your best bet if you're on a budget.

Lisa Spofford (asildroffops) | 20 comments If you want more than the library but to pay less than audible plus, there is Everand which has a lower monthly fee and a large selection of ebooks and audiobooks available. Also kobo has a subscription service which has a smaller library than audible but also costs less. The biggest tip though is that if you listen to more audiobooks than you can get a month through Libby and Hoopla, you can sign up online for virtual library cards to other library systems. This allows you to put more books on hold and can keep you pretty busy. I have 4 cards and sometimes I find it hard to keep up. Between that and alcs/arcs I am considering stopping my subscriptions!

Stewart Wallace (ginjar) | 4 comments I used audible mainly but I have found YouTube to have quite the selection, recently A.P Beswick has uploaded his entire audio book collection onto his YouTube channel for everyone to listen for free

Karen (rhyta) Libro.fm works with independent bookstores to provide audio books. They are based in the U.S. but work with bookstores in other countries.
I switched to them from Audible a couple of years ago.

For Europe I would recommend Onleihe (in Belgium, Fance, Germany, Italy and a few other countries) where you can use the online content of libraries.

BookBeat would be another App. A swedish Company with a fairly decent selection of audiobooks in several european languages.

Hope that helps.

Hillary (hill_doggy_dawg) | 3 comments Spotify aslo now has audiobooks. you get several hours but if you use them within a certain set of time you have to wait for a few days for your 'time' to renew. of course if you want you can pay to get new time immediately but i never do.
