exncgal | 4 comments I’m trying to track down a book I read around 2000-2002. It was an introduction to financial literacy (I remember specific chapters on retirement accounts and dollar cost averaging). The book was structured as a father teaching / having conversations with his young adult kid and two of the kid’s friends. It wasn’t very long, maybe 10-12 chapters/lessons, and was written in a very accessible tone. Any ideas??

exncgal | 4 comments No, that’s not it. My mystery book was written in the third person (dad talking to teens/young adults) not in the first person, and from what I can see in a sample, Rich Dad Poor Dad is first person.

exncgal | 4 comments Nope, not A Kid’s Guide. This was written for teens/young adults, not younger kids.

I don’t remember whether it said what the dad’s job was, but my impression was that he was not in finance - fitting in with the idea that finance and investing are easy enough for everyone to understand.

The book was available in the US (hence the discussion of 401k plans and IRAs).
