Caraval Thoughts?
honestly? I didn't like anything about caraval, it's one of thoes, good world building, good characters, with a good plot but it was written poorly. That's just my personal thoughts
Made the mistake of purchasing the whole series as a set since it had a good price (lesson learned). Unfortunately, I didn’t like the first book and didn’t continue the rest of the series. I condemned it to book hell. It’s one of those books that has a promising premise but fails utterly in execution. Wish I liked it more than I did :/
I liked the first book. I would read the next books in the series. I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars just cause I thought it was going to be something different than what it actually was. The characters are okay; I really hate the father like a lot lol
Didn't like it as much as I hoped I would. I had PEEEEFECT possibly, interesting plot and characters (Scarlett was going on my nervs especially) , but in the end it was just meh. I only read the first part because it was frustrating the hell out of me.
Loving the mix reviews! I LOVED Caraval with all of my being ❤️ It’s so magical and it is definitely chefs kiss 😂
I enjoyed the world building of the series
LOVED it. Got me out of my reading slump in no time. 5/5 overall
wasn't perfect. but the plot was good. the last book was the best. The first two were just okay.. though I loved Julian.

Should I still read it after I finished the oaabh series (I loved it )it’s just that I feel like everything might be spoiled for me already and not entertaining

@Daniz I haven’t personally read OUABH (it’s on my summer tbr), but ik it has different main characters and things so I believe you could still read it

Warning, ⚠️ I have heard that OUABH is better so you may not like Caraval as much

Loved the first book, kinda iffy about the second book, the third was decent. Scarlett and Julian were wayyyyyy better than Tella and Legend.
Super disappointing and grows more convoluted each book.. jacks slays tho

I didn't like the first book (as I hoped it would be as good as The Night Circus), so I didn't complete the series.

Always interesting to me that most people either love or hate the series--yet I am really in the middle. I found the plot itself fascinating though Garber's prose structure was ify in that first series. Her second series really shows how much her prose matured. I do genuinely love her second trilogy.

Thank you for this topic--it was really interesting to me to see peoples' thoughts on that trilogy. Again I think the originality makes up for any structural issues she was still working out at the time. She's definitely an author I keep track of. Do you like Erin Morgenstern? She only has two books but they are both equally as original as Garber's.
